Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for communicating between devices using short-range communication links. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to systems and methods for communicating access-right data between devices for verification or transfer.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for facilitating contactless payment using cloud-based wallet containing payment credentials (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, American Express) using a near field communication (NFC)-capable device and payment gateway servers. A user can use their existing payment card, herein referred to as a funding card, for contactless payments. A second payment card, herein referred to as a virtual card, is generated. The virtual card is associated with the funding card on a payment gateway server. The virtual card is used on a NFC-enabled mobile device. When a payment is initiated, the virtual card data is sent through the NFC system from a point of sale terminal. This information is sent to the payment gateway server, which retrieves the funding card to make the payment. The funding card, not the virtual card, is used to transfer the money to make payment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for splicing an upstream section and a downstream section of a multi-layered laminated sheet material wherein each section of the material comprises at least three layers each having first and second surfaces and wherein the at least three layers comprise first and second outer layers and at least one inner layer located between the first and second outer layers, comprising the steps of a) splicing together the upstream and downstream sections of both the first and second outer layers with a splicing material; b) removing the first outer layer from the multi-layered laminated sheet material to expose a surface of an inner layer; c) splicing the upstream and downstream sections of the exposed inner layer with a splicing material; and d) applying a replacement first outer layer to the exposed surface of the inner layer. A spliced multi-layered laminated sheet material produced according to the method is also provided.

Abstract: A location-based game helps players interact with their environment without interrupting the game. For example, while a player is playing the location-based game on a client device, the client device displays a virtual content item adjacent to a location (or building) associated with the content item. The content item may provide information about the location. The content item may be displayed without obscuring virtual objects of the game, thus allowing the player to continue playing the game and simultaneously learn about and interact with their environment.

Abstract: An apparatus for identifying a gift based on personality traits includes a user profile database with a plurality of user profiles. Each user profile includes user data correlated with personality trait information. The apparatus includes a product database with product entries of products. Each product entry includes personality trait information correlated to the product. The apparatus includes a gift request interface configured to receive from a first user a request to recommend a gift to a second user. The second user has a user profile in the user profile database. The apparatus includes a product correlation engine configured to correlate products from the product database with the second user based on the personality trait information of the user profile of the second user, and a gift presentation interface configured to display to the first user the one or more products from the product database correlated to the second user.

Abstract: A cover sheet (7) for a photovoltaic panel (4), the cover sheet (7) comprising a transparent substrate (8) and a coating (9) on the substrate (8), the coating (9) being such that the cover sheet (8) is more reflective to light of a first range of wavelengths in the infrared spectrum than to a second range of wavelengths in the visible spectrum; in which the coating (9) comprises alternating layers of first (11, 13) and second (12, 14) materials, with the first material (11, 13) having a higher refractive index than the second material (12, 14) and being a transparent conducting oxide such as indium tin oxide (ITO). Abstract: A method and system is provided to manage and track changes in enterprise architectures. The invention provides a hierarchical visual management tool to manage and update relational information within an enterprise in a controlled fashion. The relationship may be maintained in a database and displayed via graphical user interface. Enterprise assets are categorized into such categories as goals, customer values or requirements, capabilities, resources, and the like. A hierarchy is constructed so that relationships between these various categories are identified and captured using the invention. Weights may be assigned to each element of the categories so that any proposed change to an enterprise architecture may be viewed so that a value can be ascertained and compared between other values of other proposed changes. In this manner, tracking and management of evolutionary changes to an architecture may be accomplished using relational information.

Abstract: The present invention facilitates semiconductor cooling by combining a semiconductor die and a thermoelectric cooler into a single, integrated package or system. The thermoelectric cooler is controllably operated so as to dissipate thermal energy generated by the semiconductor die. Active thermal management of the package is performed by a controller, which monitors temperature(s) of the semiconductor die and increases or adjusts cooling such that desired performance levels can be obtained. The invention can also thermally manage one or more regions of a semiconductor die and can thermally manage a plurality of semiconductor dies.
