  • Publication number: 20240137613
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for tailoring related episode content within an episode, thereby improving a user's experience. In response to receiving a request for an episode, several factors may be considered when determining how much of the related episode content to provide. These factors may include information such as whether the user has already viewed a previous episode, the elapsed time since viewing the previous episode and a user preference. Related episode content may be modified to remove portions previously viewed by a user, depending on factors such as the elapsed time and a user preference.

  • Patent number: 10637599
Abstract: Embodiments providing improved systems and methods deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting optical physical layer networks are needed. A baseline may be created and performance data is extracted. The performance data is compared against user-defined rules to determine an appropriate action. In one embodiment, networks are first constructed in a specialized network factory, where they are racked, provisioned, audited, and tested by relevant experts in each technology. In another embodiment, a method isolates a problem in an optical transport network. When a problem is identified, the layers are repeatedly evaluated to identify the device operating at the lowest layer where an error occurs. That device is identified as being likely faulty.

  • Patent number: 10219919
Abstract: The present invention provides a prosthetic hand capable of multiple grasp types. The prosthetic finger units are underactuated both within and between the finger units using a differential mechanism arrangement. The locking movement of the prosthetic thumb unit is coupled to the differential mechanism. As the user repositions the prosthetic thumb unit, the differential mechanism is effected as to alter both the initial positions and force distribution of the prosthetic finger units. The present invention further provides an additive manufacturing molding method for making the same.

  • Publication number: 20160067062
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a prosthetic cooling liner system for reducing heat and sweat for an individual's residual limb. The prosthetic cooling liner system uses fluid conduit with a prosthetic silicone liner. The fluid conduit allows for cooling fluid to flow across the residual limb, cooling the skin's surface and thereby reducing sweat produced. The cooling fluid is contained in a reservoir in a small backpack worn by the individual. A peristaltic pump is used to pump the cooling fluid from the reservoir through the embedded tubes. Such a system allows the individual to maintain a high level of activity as well as comfort, while wearing the prosthetic.

  • Patent number: 5508841
Abstract: A phase-contrast DMD based image system 36 for projecting an amplitude and phase modulated image. A flexure beam DMD array 34 is used to allow analog phase modulation of reflected light 38. The phase modulation is converted to amplitude modulation by the phase-contrast imaging optics including a phase plate 42. The resulting amplitude modulated wave is flicker-free and does not need to be synchronized to optical image sensors.

  • Patent number: 5457493
Abstract: An image simulation system 20 for testing sensor systems 26 and for training image sensor personnel wherein synthetic image data is generated by a scene generator 21 and projected by an image projector 23. The image projector 23 uses a digital micromirror device array 27 to modulate the incident energy and create an image. Four modulation schemes are discussed including digital pulse-width modulation, phase contrast modulation, full complex modulation, and analog modulation. The digital pulse width modulation technique will typically require synchronizing the image sensor and the image projector. Phase contrast modulation, full complex modulation, and analog modulation do not require synchronizing the image projector 23 and the sensor system 26. Phase contrast modulation and full complex modulation have the capability to produce phase information within the image. The image simulation system 20 can produce high contrast images and is more flexible than prior art system.
