  • Patent number: 6834983
Abstract: A lighting standard, and a method for its use, that has incorporated into its top end a swivel means for the adjustment of a lighting fixture head in train and elevation. The swivel means also incorporates passages through which electrical conductors are passed to provide power for the lighting fixture. The elevating member can include a fixture body, or in the alternative, the fixture body and elevating member can be separate components. The lower end of the standard can be buried in the ground, with the wiring necessary to power the fixture entering through the lower end of the standard and wiring terminations being made through a covered opening on the side of the standard. In the alternative, the standard can be connected directly to a junction box. Applications may include, but are not limited to, landscape lighting, accent lighting, and the lighting of signs, driveways, and walkways.

  • Patent number: 6641278
Abstract: Apparatus, and a method for its use, that addresses the installation and maintenance of wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted light fixtures that otherwise would be partially assembled on-site during installation and use the industry-standard fixture bar, threaded nipple, lock nut(s), push nuts, and multiple screws. The present invention provides a factory assembled lighting fixture that includes a clutch ring, and is installed using a fixture bar, two screws, and a probe with a slotted distal end. Once the fixture bar and probe are attached to a junction box, and wiring terminations are made, the clutch ring attached to the fully assembled lighting fixture is simply pushed over the distal end of the probe to achieve secure and immediate installation. Thus, in commercial and industrial applications, although not limited thereto, use of the present invention would substantially reduce the time required for lighting fixture installation.

  • Patent number: 5658074
Abstract: A fluorescent light fixture 203 replaces a PAR lamp in an existing installation without the need to rewire the installation. The replacement fixture includes a screw-in plug corresponding to the standard base of a PAR lamp and wiring between the plug and the new fixture. A tubular member receives and attaches to a PAR fixture at one end thereof; and attaches to a replacement fixture at the other end. The tubular member has stepped inside diameters to accept a variety of fixtures; and a set screw and locking nut lock the adapter to the PAR fixture.
