  • Patent number: 11912971
Abstract: Design, fabrication and applications of three-dimensional (3D) bioreactor for cell expansion and cell secreted substance production. The bioreactors have relatively low levels of potentially cytotoxic compounds, can be coated with substituted or unsubstituted poly(p-xylene) type coatings and can also be separately formed from liquid crystal photopolymerizable monomers.

  • Publication number: 20220357934
Abstract: Methods, devices and media for two-pass source code transformation from a first high-level programming language to a second high-level programming language are described. Two different source code transformation technologies are combined to produce a two-pass source code transformation method: a compiler-based source code transformation technique is used in a first pass, and a parse-tree-based source code transformation technique is used in second pass. The second pass may be used to automatically refactor the source code to enhance desired properties of the second programming language. A two-pass C-to-Rust transformation technique, CRustS, is described which automatically generates Rust source code that exhibits memory safety and overcomes other limitations of existing tools such as C2Rust.

  • Publication number: 20110256641
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, systems, and kits for detecting IgE antibodies available to bind to the Fc epsilon receptor in a biological sample from a subject receiving anti-IgE therapy. These methods, systems, and kits find use in monitoring anti-IgE therapy and determining its efficacy.

  • Publication number: 20070137997
Abstract: An improved boiler that allows distillation of ethanol from a continuous flow of a hydrous feedstock compound, which may be beer or other semi-solid substance. The internal compartment of the boiler is separated into different zones by a plurality of primary baffle plates and secondary baffle plates. The hydrous feedstock compound is heated as it passes from one zone to another zone and ethanol inside the hydrous feedstock compound vaporizes. The ethanol rich vapor is channeled through a collector column and then collected for further processing. The temperature of the hydrous feedstock compound is slightly different from one zone to another zone because of ethanol concentration changes as the hydrous feedstock compound moves from one zone to another. At the last zone, where most of ethanol is removed, the remaining hydrous feedstock compound is removed from the boiler.

  • Publication number: 20060240204
Abstract: A polymer blend comprising a high density polyethylene and a surface enhancing polymer is provided. The surface enhancing polymer may be an elastomer such as an ethylene propylene diene monomer terpolymer. The polymer blend may be fabricated into articles such as a film or a flexible overpouch for storing, and transporting medical components. Overpouch films made from the blend advantageously do not wrinkle or deform medical components contained therein when the overpouch-medical component combination is autoclaved.

  • Publication number: 20060089599
Abstract: Medical needle assemblies and needle covers for medical needles are disclosed. The needle covers include a relatively rigid outer surface and more resilient inner surface. The needle covers protect the needle from damage, allow for effective sterilization of the assembly, provide a sterile barrier, and evidence of product tampering.

  • Publication number: 20050123703
Abstract: The present invention provides a flowable material container assembly having a membrane tube disposed coaxially within a port tube. The membrane tube has an outer layer, a core layer, and an inner layer. The outer layer is a blend of a polyolefin and a thermoplastic elastomer. The core layer is a blend of a polyolefin and a thermoplastic elastomer. The inner layer is a blend of a polyolefin, a radio frequency susceptible polymer, and a thermoplastic elastomer.

  • Publication number: 20050085785
Abstract: A monolayer film of a polymer blend of a first component selected from the group consisting of an ethylene containing polymer, the first component present in an amount by weight of the film from about 60% to about 1%, the first component having a first melting point temperature determined by DSC, a second component selected from the group consisting of propylene containing polymers and methyl pentene containing polymers, the second component being present in an amount by weight of the film from about 99% to about 40%, the second component having a second melting point temperature determined by DSC; and the film being capable of withstanding steam sterilization at a temperature from about 100° C. to about 130° C.
