  • Publication number: 20200138714
Abstract: The invention relates to flat dosage forms that disintegrate or dissolve in an aqueous environment and release at least one active ingredient in a body orifice or body cavity. The inventive dosages are formed from a polymer matrix in the form of a solidified foam having cavities and contain at least one pharmaceutical active ingredient. The inventive dosage forms further have a high mass per unit area in the region of 50 to 350 g/m2. Despite their high mass per unit area and the resulting high active ingredient loading during administration, these dosage forms exhibit a substantially improved mouthfeel in comparison to conventional film dosage forms. The invention also relates to methods for producing a dosage form of this type.

  • Publication number: 20200009080
Abstract: The invention relates to a transmucosal delivery system for idebenone, comprising an external phase, which contains at least one hydrophilic polymer, and an inner hydrophobic phase, which contains idebenone and at least one hydrophobic substance, wherein the inner hydrophobic phase is emulsified in the form of droplets in the external phase. The invention is characterized in that the inner hydrophobic phase is stabilized by at least one emulsifier in the external phase. The invention also relates to a method for producing the same and its use as a medicament.

  • Publication number: 20190047776
Abstract: A device for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying strips, including a housing in which a coil chamber for receiving an active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying band is arranged, in which a gear transmission with a driven roller for conveying the band is mounted, and in which a separating device for separating the strips from the band is arranged. A method for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient carrying strips using such a device is also disclosed. An active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying band is arranged between the driven roller and the pressure roller. A shift clutch transmission having a manually actuatable trigger element is arranged upstream of the gear transmission. The driven roller can be driven in incremental strips by the shift clutch transmission. A device and method is disclosed for dispensing active ingredient-containing or active ingredient-carrying strips with a largely equal dosage are developed.
