    Abstract: A method for testing network configurations. Specifically, a plurality of source requirements is determined for a network configuration, wherein the plurality of source requirements describe physical and functional characteristics of the network configuration. Each of the plurality of source requirements is linked to at least one of a plurality of common elements. Also, each of the plurality of common elements is associated with one or more source requirements supporting one or more network configurations. A plurality of test requirements is provided for testing the plurality of common elements. Also, the plurality of source requirements are mapped to at least one of the plurality of test requirements through the plurality of common elements.
