  • Patent number: 11519218
Abstract: A window assembly includes a polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) window frame made and a glass unit carried by the window frame. The window frame includes a pair of jambs and an astragal that extends between and interconnects the pair of jambs. The jambs have a channel or slot sized to receive therethrough one or more end walls of the astragal so that at least a portion of said one or more end walls extend into a hollow cavity in the jambs that is in fluid communication with one or more weep holes of the window assembly. The one or more end walls of the astragal and channel or slot of the jambs define a flow path configured to channel water from the astragal, through the channel or slot in the jambs and into the hollow cavity such that said water exits the hollow cavity and the window assembly via the one or more weep holes.

  • Patent number: 11326391
Abstract: A polymer window assembly includes a polymer window frame with a pair of jambs and a sill, and a glass unit carried by the window frame. A pair of brackets are attached to the jambs proximate corners between the jambs and the sill. Each bracket has an upright member, a horizontal member orthogonal to the upright member and a hook attached to a rear surface of the upright member. The brackets attach to the jambs so that the hook extends through a hole in the jamb, the upright member is adjacent a surface of the jamb and the horizontal member is disposed above (e.g., spaced above) the sill. The brackets support and transfer the weight of the glass unit to the jambs to inhibit (e.g., prevent) the sill from bearing the load of the glass unit, thereby inhibiting (e.g., preventing) the crushing or bowing of the sill by the glass unit and thereby inhibiting (e.g., preventing) the formation of gaps in the window assembly that allow for air and/or water infiltration through the window assembly.

  • Patent number: 10526834
Abstract: A mullion assembly is provided for forming a window assembly, the window assembly comprising a first window frame and a second window frame coupled to a monolithic mullion core such that a distal portion of the first window frame is in contact with a proximal surface of the mullion core and a proximal portion of the second window frame is in contact with a distal surface of the mullion core. The mullion assembly further comprises a first and second female connector on a respective first and second side of the mullion core. A plurality of separate compartments is defined along a length of the mullion core vertically between the proximal and distal surfaces and laterally between the first and second female connectors. The mullion assembly further comprises first and second male connectors configured to engage the female connectors and seal the first and second sides of the mullion core.

  • Patent number: 10450790
Abstract: A brickmold window trim can include a single-piece body that can be installed by hand on a window frame without tools. The brickmold window trim resiliently couples to the window frame, is self-retaining on the window frame, and self-centering relative to the window frame. The brickmold window trim can have a flange that contact a top surface of a ledge portion of a window frame, a support wall that contacts a side surface of the ledge portion and an angled wall portion that contacts an underside of the ledge portion. One or more of the flange wall, support wall and angled wall snaps or clips onto the ledge portion to couple the brickmold window trim to the window frame.
