  • Publication number: 20230072155
Abstract: The invention provides methods and related systems and computer readable media that may be used to aid a clinician in diagnosing a condition. The methods and systems identify and incorporate findings from patient information (such as the patient's electronic health record (EHR) or dictated text) and map them to findings in a list or database in a physical computing device, i.e., in a ODDS. The identification of findings may be carried out using various methods, such as natural language processing systems (NLP), either in real time or in advance.

  • Publication number: 20190365799
Abstract: The invention provides methods of treating a human patient having a Lidocaine-lneffective Condition or a hypokalemic condition by administration of either a potassium-elevating agent or potassium, alone or in combination with additional agents. Patients amenable to the treatment regimens described herein include those having a diagnosis of a hypokalemic condition, disorder of attention Asperger Syndrome, Sensory Overstimulation Syndrome (SOS), Sensory Processing Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, Fibromyalgia, various pain syndromes and/or Premenstrual Syndrome. The invention additionally features pharmaceutical compositions and kits for the treatment of such conditions.

  • Publication number: 20180243448
Abstract: In general, the invention provides kits, devices, and methods for determining the ineffectiveness of an anesthetic, (e.g., lidocaine), using a topical approach that avoids injection. The methods typically employ the placement of aliquots of two different formulations, at least one including an anesthetic, in different locations on a subject. Further embodiments may employ a single formulation including the anesthetic.

  • Patent number: 7742932
Abstract: The difficulties in incorporating transmission history into medical diagnostic software are non-obvious. These are addressed here with systems and methods for hyper-fractionation of transmission history in a way that allows the full power of this information to be used in medical diagnostic software.

  • Patent number: 6754655
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein aid a clinician in the diagnostic process by providing the clinician with information about the available clinical procedures that most improve the clinician's ability to reach a correct diagnosis. Specifically, the systems described herein include software tools that can process information about the patient, including age, sex, symptoms, and prior medical history, and information about the known findings associated with different possible medical conditions, and based on this information, rank the other findings that can be ascertained by the clinician to point out to those findings that are most likely to disambiguate between the multiple candidate disease and lead to the correct diagnosis.

  • Publication number: 20030208588
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for gathering information about a person, maintaining this information within a protective zone that is isolated from third parties, maintaining the identities of available third party data content, producing a set of identified targeted third party data content based upon the gathered information and the identities of available third party data content, and directing the identified targeted data content to an end user's computer. In this way, detailed private information may be collected and processed within a protective zone to identify targeted data content, such as advertisements, for example, whereby the only information that leaves the protective zone are the requests for the identified targeted data content. These systems and methods can be utilized to obtain targeted third party medically-related data content without compromising one's privacy.

  • Patent number: 6212519
Abstract: The systems and methods of the invention can process a qualitative expression, typically a phrase, to generate a numerical value that represents the likelihood of an event as expressed by the given qualitative expression. The qualitative expressions typically are made up of a probability term and possibly a term of degree and one or more terms of negation. Thus, the systems described herein allow numerical information to be captured from qualitative expressions. This, allows further numeric processing and data refining, and facilitates the development of databases of information, such as databases of information about the significance of the existence of a symptom for the diagnosis of a particular disease.
