Patent number: 12077366Abstract: An article dispensing apparatus includes a carousel and an upper casing with a dispensing face including a dispensing orifice through which the articles are dispensed. The carousel includes plural holding sections for holding the articles to be dispensed and is rotationally movable. A controller controls application of a force to cause the carousel to rotate relative to the dispensing face when an instruction to dispense an article is received. When the carousel is moved so that one of its holding sections having an article therein is aligned with the dispensing orifice, the article is allowed to be dispensed therethrough. A locking mechanism selectively engages the carousel to prevent any relative movement of the carousel when the article dispensing unit is not mounted on the main housing and disengages from the carousel to allow intended relative movement when the article dispensing unit is mounted on the main housing.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2020Date of Patent: September 3, 2024Assignee: RxCap, Inc.Inventors: David MacVittie, Hale Kpetigo, Michael A. Furlotti

Patent number: 9396616Abstract: A gaming device including a re-initiation mode wherein the probability of extending the bonus game is increased by fixing the real or reels displaying a locking symbol on the reel. In the re-initiation mode embodiment, the gaming device reactivates some or all of the reels except the reel displaying the locking symbol for a predetermined number of additional free spins or until the reactivated reels display or Indicate a terminating symbol on the reels. The gaming device provides any outcomes associated with indicated symbols or combination of symbols. In one embodiment, if a terminating symbol is displayed on designated reels during one of the additional free spins, the gaming device re-initiates the bonus game.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: IGTInventors: Anthony J. Baerlocher, Karen Michelle Kendall, Michael MacVittie, Ryan W. Cuddy

Patent number: 9349250Abstract: A linked gaming device system in which a plurality of gaming devices are linked by a common bonus event is provided. In one embodiment, the linked gaming device system includes a shared symbol generation display positioned adjacent to each of a plurality of associated gaming devices and having a plurality of sections and values displayed at each section. Upon a triggering of the bonus event, any player eligible to participate in the bonus may achieve an outcome generated from the bonus event including the shared display. When the shared display is activated, it simultaneously generates an individual outcome associated with each gaming device. The outcomes are spatially related to one another so that a random generation of an outcome associated with one gaming device automatically generates random outcomes associated with each gaming device. However, each gaming device receives the outcome only if it has participated in the random generation.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2013Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: IGTInventors: Joseph E. Kaminkow, Anthony J. Baerlocher, Zeke Brill, Hans Elias, Paulina Rodgers, Kehl T. LeSourd, Eric L. Wagner, Christopher D. Carlisle, Kirk A. Tedsen, Michael MacVittie

Patent number: 8512121Abstract: A gaming system including a plurality of adjacently arranged gaming machines which are linked by a multi-component game. Each of the gaming machines includes a base or primary game which is operable upon a wager by a player. Upon the occurrence of a component triggering event at one of the gaming machines, that gaming machine generates one or more components of the multi-component game. Upon an evaluation triggering event at one of the gaming machines, that gaming machine determines a multi-component game outcome to provide to the player based on that generated components of other gaming machines. The gaming system determines an award, if any, for that player based on the multi-component game outcome.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2012Date of Patent: August 20, 2013Assignee: IGTInventors: Michael MacVittie, Joseph E. Kaminkow, Anthony J. Baerlocher
