  • Publication number: 20180278988
Abstract: Improved systems and methods to navigate, browse, search and/or playback digital media assets (e.g., media items) hosted on a media server are disclosed. One embodiment of the invention pertains to a user interface arrangement, such as a hierarchical menu system, that facilitates navigation, browsing and playing of media items remotely stored on a media server. The user interface arrangement enables user scrolling or browsing with respect to a list or set of information pertaining to media items, where the list or set can be expanded to include information for additional media items that are subsequently acquired. The user interface arrangement can also present and permit navigation of categorized media items. The user interface arrangement can be presented on a display device associated with a client device. In one embodiment, the display device can be a television and the client device can be an electronic apparatus that can couple to the media server via a network.

  • Patent number: 8116257
Abstract: A method of calculating local time, in an intelligent network, of a subscriber's User Equipment (UE), determines whether a call originates or terminates with the UE, the UTC offset and DST observance indicator for the (G)MSC signaling the intelligent network, and a determination is of whether the UE is in a Problem Area cell site. If the UE is in a Problem Area cell site, the received time and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) Offset is corrected. A Cell Global Identity (CGI) is used to lookup the UTC Offset and a Daylight Saving Time (DST) observance indicator for the Cell Site. For calls terminating with the UE, if the UE is not in a Problem Area cell site, the VLR serving the UE is used to lookup the UTC offset and DST observance indicator for the subscriber. A time zone delta is applied to the call time of day and the UTC Offset and if DST is in effect, and there is a difference of DST between an MSC serving the UE and the location associated with the UE, a DST delta is applied to call time of day.

  • Publication number: 20110074831
Abstract: A system and method for navigating pages of content on a target device is disclosed. The target device has a display area that is typically smaller than a page of content. Rather than having the user use scroll bars or finger gestures to view the entire page, a predetermined sequence of frames are displayed to the user. A frame is a preselected portion of a page. The user simply indicates when he has completed reading or viewing the current frame, and the next frame is then presented in the display area. This predetermined sequence is generated by the content provider or author, who uploads both the content and the frame sequence to a server, where it can be accessed by potential users.

  • Patent number: 7245711
Abstract: A method and system for processing a call when a call recipient is unavailable by using virtual interaction queuing techniques over IP networks are disclosed. The method includes queuing the call in a queue associated with a call center, obtaining a messaging preference of the caller, disconnecting the call, generating at least one IP-based message for the caller according to the caller's messaging preference, and transmitting the at least one IP-based message to the caller over an IP network, so as to begin a virtual interaction between the caller and the call center after the call is disconnected.

  • Publication number: 20060047827
Abstract: A system for automatic configuration of computers on a network is disclosed. In a first aspect a storage area network is disclosed. The network comprises at least one controller; and a plurality of clients coupled to the at least one controller. The network includes a storage device coupled to the at least one controller and the plurality of clients. The controller upon attachment to the network registers itself and notifies the plurality of clients. The plurality of clients then interrogates the controller. Each of the plurality of clients updates its configuration based upon the interrogation. In a second aspect, a method for configuration of computers in a network is disclosed. The method comprises registering at least one controller upon attachment to the network and notifying a plurality of clients by the at least one controller The method includes interrogating the at least one controller by each of the plurality of clients. The plurality of clients are updated based upon the interrogation.
