  • Patent number: 11725554
Abstract: An insert assembly unit for a muffler of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes two walls (12, 14) arranged at spaced locations from one another. Each of the two walls has a circumferential edge area (20, 22) configured for fixing at a circumferential wall of a muffler. An exhaust gas flow unit (26) is arranged between the two walls. The exhaust gas flow unit includes a flow duct area (34) with an exhaust gas outer flow opening (38) to be positioned directed towards an opening in a circumferential wall of a muffler, a first mounting duct area (40) with a first mounting opening (44) for fixing the exhaust gas flow unit at a first wall of the walls, and a second mounting duct area (42) with a second mounting opening (46) for fixing the exhaust gas flow unit at a second wall of the walls.

  • Patent number: 10167756
Abstract: A muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing with a circumferential wall. At least one resonator chamber (48) is defined by the circumferential wall and two base walls (28, 22), that are provided in the housing. At least one resonator pipe (50), with a first pipe end (51) and with a second pipe end (56), is connected to one of the base walls (28) in the area of a first opening (52) in the one of the base walls (28). In the alternative or in addition the one of the base walls (28) traverses an interior space such that the first pipe end (51) lies outside of the resonator chamber (48), with the second pipe end (56) being fixed to the other base wall (22).

  • Patent number: 9822684
Abstract: An exhaust gas duct system for an internal combustion engine includes an upstream, first exhaust gas pipe area (30), a downstream, second exhaust gas pipe area (34) adjoining the first exhaust gas pipe area (30) in a transition area (38) in an exhaust gas flow direction (G), and a liquid drain channel area (60) in the transition area. The drain channel area is open from the exhaust gas flow volume (78) in the first exhaust gas pipe area (30) or/and in the second exhaust gas pipe area (34) to a liquid collection volume (80).
