  • Publication number: 20080067034
Abstract: An escalator or moving walk has a drive arranged in a reversing area. The drive drives chain wheels that move the step band or pallet band and include a motor, an axial gear, a first hollow shaft and a second hollow shaft. The motor drives a belt to drive a gear input shaft that runs coaxial to the first hollow shaft. Arranged at one end of the gear input shaft is an operating brake; the other end of the gear input shaft is connected to the axial gear. A first flange connects a first chain wheel to a truss. A second chain wheel is arranged at one end of the second hollow shaft; the other end of the second hollow shaft is connected to the housing of the axial gear. A second flange connected to a side plate serves as a torque converter bearing for the axial gear.

  • Patent number: 7308978
Abstract: An escalator or moving walkway has a step or plate belt with motor-driven steps or plates and free-running steps or plates. A drive frame connected with a frame serves as support for a drive unit of a motor-driven step or plate. The drive unit includes a motor, a transmission and a brake. A friction wheel, which transmits drive power to a travel track, is arranged at the transmission output, while a counter-pressure roller arranged in a fixed position on the drive frame laterally guides the step.

  • Publication number: 20070216133
Abstract: A transportation system cradle cradles and moves a transportation system structure of a transportation system in an assembly process. The transportation system cradle contains a drive unit connectable to the transportation system structure to move or transport the transportation system structure. The transportation system cradle also has at least one first and second cradle units that are designed to cradle a first or second foot area of the transportation system structure. Intermediate products, formed of a transportation system structure and a cradle, may be moved between assembly stations in an assembly plant.

  • Publication number: 20070129831
Abstract: An assembly plant for at-factory pre-assembly of transportation systems has several assembly stations. In every assembly station a part of a respective transportation system is pre-assembled at each station. The assembly stations are arranged in the sequence of the assembly steps that are to be executed, and have assembly-step-specific tool devices and devices for making ready an inventory of assembly-step-specific assembly components. A production control system controls execution of the assembly steps and individual movement of the transportation systems between assembly stations, such that each transportation system is alternately moved and subjected to assembly steps. The assembly steps proceed in a rhythm (T) that is defined by a pre-specified fixed standard assembly-time window T.

  • Publication number: 20070125992
Abstract: A lifting system for vertical adjustment of a transportation system structure consists of a foot that is fastened onto the transportation system structure and during manufacturing assembly of the transportation system structure points downwards, and a foot cradle. The foot is bounded on opposite sides by two foot surfaces that are arranged at a foot-surface angle to each other. The foot cradle has two complimentary supporting surfaces against which the foot surfaces rest. The supporting surfaces are vertically movable, allowing the foot and transportation system structure to be raised or lowered, and the vertical adjustment thereby takes place. A transportation system cradle has at least one such foot cradle, and together with the transportation system structure suggested, form an intermediate product that can be moved between assembly stations in an assembly plant.

  • Patent number: 6974018
Abstract: An escalator has a step-band with steps for the transport of persons. The step-band is bounded on its sides by a balustrade held by a balustrade base. A handrail-drive drives the handrails, and has friction-wheels driving the handrails on the outside of the handrails. Rollers press upon the insides of the handrails, pressing the handrail against the friction-wheel. At least one further friction-wheel arranged on a step chain-wheel drives the friction-wheel through frictional or mechanical engagement.
