  • Patent number: 7004372
Abstract: A predetermined number of bond cycles is carried out in order to find optimum bond parameters for a wire bonder. The bond parameters to be optimized are each varied within a predefined range. With each bond cycle, after attachment of the wire to the connection point, the capillary is moved out of the bond position in a predetermined horizontal direction whereby the current flowing through the drive which moves the capillary is monitored and its maximum determined.

  • Patent number: 6971047
Abstract: A method and a device for handling errors of software modules for redundantly designed systems in vehicles in order to optimize error handling for redundantly designed systems in vehicles, so that errors are detected and error handling measures are introduced. In addition, error handling is configured in such a way that it can be used for a plurality of software-controlled applications that run on a control device. Furthermore, a device for performing the method uses direct and/or indirect redundant input data to determine the adjusted input data for the software modules.

  • Patent number: 6929168
Abstract: A method for finding optimum bond parameters for a bond force FB and an ultrasonic variable P and, optionally, at least one further bond parameter of a wire bonder uses a sensor sensitive to a shear force exerted by the capillary on a connection point. A predetermined number of bonding operations with varying bonding parameters is performed. Optimum bond parameters are derived from the signal of the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20050125132
Abstract: A method and a device which, when a pneumatic and/or hydraulic or electromechanical braking system of a vehicle is controlled, make it possible to set a second braking force on at least one wheel brake of one wheel in a defined manner in addition to the defined setting of a first braking force. The first braking force is generated by a first control unit using first hydraulic and/or pneumatic components, whereas the second braking force is generated at predefinable times as a function of the filling of an accumulator with a pressurized medium. The accumulator is a device separated from the first hydraulic and/or pneumatic components which is preferably mounted in the proximity of the wheel brakes and which is filled via a relative movement between at least one wheel and the vehicle body. It is therefore conceivable that, with the aid of a working cylinder attached to a wheel, the accumulator is filled with volume of a medium by utilizing the relative movement between wheel and body.

  • Publication number: 20050049835
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for the early detection and prediction of damage to assemblies in machine plants, in particular also to mobile machine plants. For this purpose, the structure-borne sound of the machine system is sensed by a sensor (1) and output as an acceleration signal and analyzed in a digital signal processor (DSP). In this context, in order to avoid negative influences of ambient vibrations or structure-borne sounds which are not associated with the state of the machine plant, the acceleration signal is firstly transformed into the frequency domain by means of a fast-Fourier transformation, and the data obtained in this way is then transformed again into the time domain by means of cepstrum analysis so that resonance data relating to individual shock pulses (a cepstrum) is obtained in the time domain.

  • Publication number: 20050019158
Abstract: A twin flow turbine housing for two intake channels (13a, 14a) separated from one another in terms of fluid technology and intended for a fluid which is to be fed under pressure to a turbine, for example of a turbocharger, consists of two substantially symmetrical half-shells (13, 14) which between them enclose a substantially flat partition (18). The two half-shells (13, 14) and the partition (18) consist of sheet metal and are welded to one another. The outer contours of the half-shells have bent-over edges (20, 20?) and notches (30?) which are engaged by extensions (30) of the partition (18), the extensions (30) projecting outwards through the notches (30?) to enable them, after assembly of the half-shells, to be welded to the edges thereof. This manufacturing technology can be used for uncontrolled turbochargers and also for turbochargers controlled by a bypass.

  • Publication number: 20050002403
Abstract: In a method of estimating a bit rate (f1) of a digital signal conveyed through a SONET network between an originating node and a terminating node, the digital signal received by the originating node is processed to determine a result of a first function of the signal bit rate (f1) and a respective Tx local reference frequency (f2) of the originating node. A result of a second function of the Tx local reference frequency (f2) and a respective Rx local reference frequency (f3) of the terminating node is calculated. Finally, a result of a third function of the respective first and second function results is calculated, to derive an estimate of the signal bit rate (f4) relative to the Rx local reference frequency (f3).

  • Patent number: 6819980
Abstract: In a method for the avoidance of rollover phenomena in semitrailers with the emission of warning signals for the driver of the vehicle when driving inappropriately, the center of gravity of the load of the semitrailer is calculated in an on-board computer. From the center of gravity thus determined and the known weight of the loaded semitrailer, the on-board computer calculates a rollover limit as a function of instantaneous driving parameters, on exceeding of which limit a warning is issued to the driver of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6751956
Abstract: Internal combustion engines, which have an exhaust-gas turbocharger that possesses an adjustable turbine geometry, include a waste-gate bypass. When a valve controlling the waste-gate bypass malfunctions, the pressure in the intake-system branch and the exhaust-system branch may increase to an undesirably high level, which may result in component parts being damaged. To prevent this in an internal combustion engine having an exhaust-gas turbocharger, a pressure sensor is provided, which determines the pressure in or upstream from the turbine and transmits it to an electronic control unit. When the control unit determines that a preselected limiting value of the pressure has been exceeded, the turbine geometry is modified so that the turbine may be prevented from being damaged. This arrangement is provided for internal combustion engines, which have an exhaust-gas turbocharger and are equipped with, in particular, an engine-braking device.

  • Patent number: 6739496
Abstract: In order that, on wire bonding by means of a Wire Bonder, optimum bonding results can be achieved after a capillary change it is suggested that, after a change from a first capillary to a second capillary, the ultrasonic transducer which applies ultrasonics to the horn which guides the capillary is controlled with a parameter P2 which results from the parameter P1 before the capillary change as P2=g(k1, k2)*P1 or P2=g(k1, k2, A1, A2)*P1 or P2=g(k1, k2, A1, A2, H1, H2)*P1, whereby the quantities k1 and k2 designate the estimated values for the flexural strength, the quantities A1 and A2 the amplitudes of the freely oscillating capillary and H1 and H2 the diameters in the narrowest part of the longitudinal drill hole of the first or second capillary and whereby the function g is a predetermined function.

  • Patent number: 6648205
Abstract: A Wire Bonder has a capillary clamped to a horn. An ultrasonic transducer applies ultrasonics to the horn whereby the ultrasonic transducer is controlled by a parameter P. For calibration of the parameter P, a pizoresistive sensor integrated into a semiconductor chip is used. The capillary is lowered onto the semiconductor chip and a bond force is applied to it. Afterwards, a value P1 of the parameter P is applied to the ultrasonic transducer and the output signal of the sensor is stored as the reference value URef as soon as the transient reaction is concluded. The bond force is selected great enough so that the capillary does not slide back and forth. The Wire Bonder, for example after changing the capillary, is then recalibrated in that a correction factor &ggr; is analogously determined so that the amplitude of the sensor signal assumes the value URef when the ultrasonic transducer is operated with the value P2=&ggr;*P1.
