  • Publication number: 20210337244
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for providing a physical harm deterrent system. Upon receiving an initiation of a physical harm deterrent application by a user of a handheld video streaming device, a video camera of the handheld video streaming device is activated by the physical harm deterrent application. In conjunction with the activation of the video camera, a lighted alert feature of the handheld video streaming device is also activated, the lighted alert feature configured to indicate to persons approaching the user of the handheld video streaming device the physical harm deterrent application is active. The physical harm deterrent application streams live video from the video camera to a remote storage location.

  • Patent number: 10726154
Abstract: Methods, systems, and software for identifying threat data in documents stored in cloud-based storage services. A service is provided that enables users who store documents on cloud-based storage services to have their documents scanned for threat data comprising personal and/or confidential data such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers. The documents are streamed from the storage services and scanned to detect one or more types of personal threat data. The detected personal threat data are then presented to users in redacted form. Detecting and presentation of personal threat data is performed in a manner under which threat data is never stored in non-volatile storage in an un-redacted form. A Web service seamlessly enables users to request their documents to be scanned for personal threat data, view detected personal threat data in redacted forms, and access documents identified as containing personal threat data.

  • Publication number: 20110294756
Abstract: In its many embodiments, the present invention provides a novel class of heterocyclic compounds of Group A or Group, as defined herein, as modulators of gamma secretase, methods of preparing such compounds, pharmaceutical compositions containing one or more such compounds, methods of preparing pharmaceutical formulations comprising one or more such compounds, and methods of treatment, prevention, inhibition, or amelioration of one or more diseases associated with the central nervous system using such compounds or pharmaceutical compositions.

  • Publication number: 20060109750
Abstract: An electronic reminder, the alert feature of which uses visual and/or audible alert signals, with customizable surface areas. The surface areas include an area onto which a distributor of the reminder can apply information specific to a known end user or user group. A surface area of the housing also permits a purchaser of relatively small quantities of the invention to apply their own promotional information prior to redistribution to their customers. Another area of the housing includes a surface area of such material as to allow the end user to handwrite information associated with the reminding function, such as the storage location and brand name (or product type) of a particular item, or a task. A display device permits a user-defined, reminder-related visual cue (for example, a photograph) to be held in place and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20050057521
Abstract: A computer receives data from a keyboard having one or more keys which cause generation of keyboard data that quantitatively describe the relative force applied to those keys. The keyboard data are transmitted in an HID report containing identifiers for one or more keys that have been pressed and force data for each key. The force data may be a multi-bit value quantifying the key force, or a null indicator signaling that the key is not force-sensing. Keyboard data messages are then prepared which identify keys pressed, contain force data, and may indicate whether the force data updates previous force data. Force updates are only provided to application programs registering for key force data. In other aspects of the invention, key repeat messages are automatically generated for a key held pressed by a user. The key repeat messages are generated at a rate controlled by the amount of force applied to the key.
