  • Publication number: 20240243949
Abstract: A method for determining a channel impulse response (CIR) estimation in ultra-wideband (UWB) communication using a supercomplementary zero-sum correlation (SZC) sequence block is provided. The method includes, obtaining, from a memory, a basic sequence of N chips and having perfect periodic autocorrelation function (PACF), N being an odd number. The method also includes performing, by a shifting logic, a circular shift of the chips in the basic sequence by a shift number to obtain a shifted sequence, the shift number being a positive number less than N. The method also includes computing, by an inverting logic, an inversion parameter of the shifted sequence. The method also includes computing, by the inverting logic, a output sequence based on the shifted sequence and the inversion parameter; and receiving, by an antenna, a transmitted sequence. The method further includes performing, by a correlator circuit, cross-correlation between the output sequence and the received sequence.

  • Publication number: 20240168119
Abstract: An ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system comprising a transmitter having two antennas and a receiver having a single receive antenna. Respective selected portions of the UWB signal are transmitted by the transmitter via each of the two transmit antennas and are received at the receive antenna. By comparing the phases of the received signal portions, the phase difference of departure can be determined. From this phase difference the known distance, d, between the transmit antennas the Cartesian (x, y) location of the transmitter relative to the receiver can be directly determined.

  • Patent number: 11921185
Abstract: An ultra-wideband (“UWB”) communication system comprising a transmitter and a receiver having two antennas. An UWB signal transmitted by the transmitter is received at each of the antennas. By comparing the carrier phases of the received signals, the phase difference can be determined. • Publication number: 20240014852
Abstract: Systems and methods for reduced interpath interference for ultrawideband (UWB) wireless communication are disclosed. In one aspect, a wireless communication device employs a systematic and non-random pulse-hopping scheme to introduce variable distances between pulses to reduce collision rates from interpath interference. In exemplary aspects, the scheme optimizes avoidance of collision rates for distances between paths of up to thirty nanoseconds (30 ns). The use of an optimized grid will be stable regardless of position of the user, thereby avoiding transmission drops and improving the user experience.

  • Publication number: 20230300005
Abstract: Systems and methods for channel estimation are disclosed. In one aspect, supercomplementary sets (SCSs) of sequences are defined and more optionally, but more particularly, supercomplementary zero-sum cross-correlation (SZC) sequence blocks are created from the SCSs and transmitted to a receiver. The receiver receives a signal that includes the SCSs or SZC sequence block(s) deformed by a channel frequency offset (CFO). The receiver may correlate the signal with the known SCS or SZC to create a signal with minimal or no side lobes from which the CFO may be removed and a channel estimate formed. Based on the channel estimate, a distance between transmitter and receiver may be determined and used for other purposes, such as the provision of location-based services.

  • Patent number: 11731915
Abstract: A new slow-release fertilizer is described that is formed by applying graphene oxide (GO) as a carrier for micronutrients such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), in which the micronutrients are efficiently bonded with the functional groups at the surface and sides of the GO sheets due to their affinity to the unpaired oxygen atoms in the GO. The prepared Cu-graphene oxide (Cu-GO) and Zn-graphene oxide (Zn-GO) fertilizers showed a biphasic dissolution behaviour compared to commercial zinc sulphate (ZnSO4) and copper sulphate (CuSO4) fertilizer granules, displaying both fast- and slow-release micronutrient release.
