  • Patent number: 10038472
Abstract: In an ultra-wideband (“UWB”) receiver, a received UWB signal is periodically digitized as a series of ternary samples. The samples are continuously correlated with a predetermined preamble sequence to develop a correlation value. When the value exceeds a predetermined threshold, indicating that the preamble sequence is being received, estimates of the channel impulse response (“CIR”) are developed. When a start-of-frame delimiter (“SFD”) is detected, the best CIR estimate is provided to a channel matched filter (“CMF”) substantially to filter channel-injected noise.

  • Publication number: 20180167150
Abstract: In an ultra-wideband (“UWB”) receiver, a received UWB signal is periodically digitized as a series of ternary samples. During a carrier acquisition mode of operation, the samples are continuously correlated with a predetermined preamble sequence to develop a correlation value. When the value exceeds a predetermined threshold, indicating that the preamble sequence is being received, estimates of the channel impulse response (“CIR”) are developed. When a start-of-frame delimiter (“SFD”) is detected, the best CIR estimate is provided to a channel matched filter (“CMF”). During a data recovery mode of operation, the CMF filters channel-injected noise from the sample stream. Both carrier phase errors and data timing errors are continuously detected and corrected during both the carrier acquisition and data recovery modes of operation. The phase of the carrier can be determined by accumulating the correlator output before it is rotated by the carrier correction.

  • Publication number: 20180145722
Abstract: An ultra-wideband communication and/or location system having a plurality of channels, each implementing a respective one of a plurality of predetermined codewords. Within each channel, one or more predetermined pulse repetition frequences are defined. • Publication number: 20180114493
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing. A display is supported by the housing. An imager is proximately located with the display. One or more processors, operable with the display and the imager, alter a presentation of content of the display when the imager captures an image. This can include turning OFF light emitting diodes of the display, presenting an image filtering presentation on the display, or presenting an image compensation presentation on the display. The presentation can also be altered while the imager meters received light.

  • Publication number: 20180059235
Abstract: In an ultra-wideband (“UWB”) communication system comprising a pair of UWB transceivers, an asynchronous two-way ranging method for closely estimating the time-of-flight between the transceivers after the exchange of only 3 messages between the transceivers. In an alternate asynchronous two-way ranging method, the time-of-flight between the transceivers may be closely estimated after the exchange of only 4 messages between the transceivers.

  • Publication number: 20180018753
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing, which may be deformable or may include hinges to allow a display, which is flexible, to be deform by bending or other operations. One or more flex sensors detect when the electronic device is deformed at a deformation portion. One or more processors, which include an application processor, reconfigure a presentation of content along the flexible display in response to detecting deformation at the deformation portion, where the reconfiguring includes a content aspect ratio transition from a first predefined aspect ratio to a second predefined aspect ratio.

The samples are continuously correlated with a predetermined preamble sequence to develop a correlation value. When the value exceeds a predetermined threshold, indicating that the preamble sequence is being received, a stream of estimates of the channel impulse response (“CIR”) are developed. When a start-of-frame delimiter (“SFD”) is detected, the best CIR estimate is provided to a channel matched filter (“CMF”) substantially to filter channel-injected noise. The time of arrival of the first arriving path is developed from the stream of CIR estimates.

  • Patent number: 9769273
Abstract: A system and method for creating custom domain name links is presented. A request is received by at least one server communicatively coupled to a network. The request is received from a user and is to create a custom domain name link to a third party service, the request identifying a custom domain name and the third party service. An entry is retrieved from a third party service link database for the third party service. The entry specifies how to create the custom domain name link for the third party service. The custom domain name link is created, by the at least one server, in accordance with the entry retrieved from the third party service link database.

  • Patent number: 9715694
Abstract: A system and method for the generation of candidate domain names and potential website content are presented. The method includes receiving, by at least one server communicatively coupled to a network, a request to access or purchase access to a software application, the request being received from a user. Keywords associated with at least one of the user, a website of the user, and a business of the user may be generated and a candidate domain name relevant to the keywords may be generated. A drill-down survey may be presented to collect information from the user that the user thinks is relevant to the generation of a candidate domain name or potential website content. The survey responses are aggregated and then analyzed to generate one or more candidate domain names and/or to suggest potential website content.
