  • Patent number: 11637678
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for determining a Zone identifier (ID), Zone Center, and negative acknowledgement (NACK) ranges. Included are operations and means at a receiving user equipment (UE) to determine a current geographic location (GLL) of the receiving UE, and select a Zone ID based on a two-dimensional (2-D) lookup into an indexed array with the current GLL, the indexed array storing Zone data for one or more geographic Zones. The Zone data for each geographic Zone may be indexed according to geographic position, and include a Zone ID, Zone center, and one or more NACK ranges, each NACK range corresponding with a geographic Zone disposed about the geographic Zone corresponding to the Zone ID. Operations further include performing a NACK operation based on the selected Zone ID and a NACK range.

  • Patent number: 9268871
Abstract: A method and apparatus for obtaining content with reduces round trip times is provided. The method may comprise transmitting, from a device, a primary content item request to a proxy server to obtain a primary content item using a first protocol, receiving the primary content item from the remote proxy using the first protocol, generating one or more secondary content item requests for one or more secondary content items associated with the primary content item, transmitting the one or more secondary content item requests to the proxy server using a second protocol, wherein the second protocol decouples the one or more secondary content item requests from an acknowledgement of receipt of the one or more secondary content item requests, and receiving at least one of the one or more secondary content items from the proxy server using the second protocol.

Abstract: An apparatus for the storage of a first group and a second group of data on at least one storage medium is claimed. The apparatus comprises a storage space allocator configured to partition the first storage medium into a first segment and a second segment. A comparer is configured to compare the space needed to store the first group of data with the amount of space available on the first segment and to compare the space needed to store the second group of data with the amount of space available on the second segment. A separator is configured to separate the first group of data into a first primary portion and a first secondary portion if the space needed to store the first group of data is greater than the amount of space available on the first segment, and to separate the second group of data into a second primary portion and a second secondary portion if the space needed to store the second group of data is greater than the amount of space available on the second segment.
