  • Patent number: 10174675
Abstract: A single degree of freedom (SDOF) acoustic liner includes a porous face sheet, a substantially imperforate back sheet generally parallel to and opposing said porous face sheet and defining a thickness therebetween, and an acoustic core layer of contiguous adjacent resonant cavities disposed between the porous face sheet and the imperforate back sheet. The acoustic core layer includes a first resonant cell having a first internal volume therein and a second resonant cell having a second internal volume therein different than the first internal volume. A cell partition wall extends between the porous face sheet and the imperforate back sheet, and separates and seals the first resonant cell from the second resonant cell. In a thickness direction, and perpendicular to a plane generally parallel with the porous face sheet and the substantially imperforate back sheet, the first internal volume overlaps the second internal volume over the cell partition wall.

  • Publication number: 20170068646
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, apparatus, systems, and computer readable storage media for interacting with one or more data objects in an online social network. A user interface includes a publisher with a custom action. The custom action is defined in accordance with custom action instructions provided by a first entity via an application programming interface (API). Such custom action instructions may declaratively or programmatically define the data object, the interaction to be performed with the data object, and other attributes associated with the custom action. A user may request to interact with the data object via selection of the custom action by a second entity. Information may be submitted through the publisher to interact with the data object to update a database system associated with the data object. A feed item may be presented for inclusion in the information feed based on the update.

  • Publication number: 20170053075
Abstract: The invention provides a computer implemented method for constructing a patient-specific evidence-informed case rate (ECR) for an episode of medical care spanning a defined period of time for a particular payer-provider-patient triad to create a patient-specific, severity adjusted prospective budget for the patient. ECR Analytics is a tool that constructs episodes of care using administrative claims data, both medical and pharmacy. It calculates the cost of care of patient-specific episodes by assigning relevant services to each episode and further distinguishing those services as typical or routine versus those associated with a complication. The episodes calculated within ECR Analytics can be attributed to specific providers, risk adjusted for performance measurement, and can also be used to construct prospective budgets for payment purposes, such as episode of care payment or reference pricing.

  • Patent number: 9404428
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine achieves much higher thermodynamic cycle efficiency than it is possible to achieve in other engines of the same type. It achieves this by operating with a much higher expansion ratio, without an increase in effective compression ratio. The engine geometric compression ratio is considerably larger than it is in conventional engines of the same type. It operates unthrottled most of the time, and the control of the volume of the intake air retained in the cylinder is performed by varying the timing of the intake valve closure. Ignition timing is after the top-dead-center most of the time. Suitable coordination of ignition timing control with intake valve timing control insures that the peak combustion pressure and temperature remain within acceptable limits.
