  • Publication number: 20090205354
Abstract: A dehumidifier apparatus comprises a housing having an air inlet for receiving incoming air, an air outlet spaced therefrom for allowing the air to exit from the housing, the housing being configured to provide an interior air passageway connecting the air inlet to the air outlet; an air mover mounted within the air passageway for moving the air through the air passageway from the air inlet to the air outlet; a compressor mounted in the housing for compressing a refrigerant; an evaporator located within the air passageway for evaporating the refrigerant during a dehumidifying cycle, and thereby cooling air flowing through the evaporator and causing water in the air to condense on a surface of the evaporator; a condenser for condensing the refrigerant during the dehumidifier cycle, the condenser being located in the air passageway downstream of the evaporator in series with the evaporator; refrigerant flow lines configured to allow for a flow of the refrigerant between the compressor, the condenser, and the ev

  • Patent number: 6406331
Abstract: A fuse holder assembly for automotive-type fuses in an automotive fuse box, the fuse holder assembly being secured to the fuse box and mounting a fuse for movement relative to the fuse holder and the fuse box. The fuse is mounted on the holder for movement in a first direction for engaging and disengaging circuit terminals on the fuse box, and is further mounted for movement relative to the fuse holder in a second direction such that the fuse terminals are moved out of alignment with the circuit terminals on the fuse box. Moving the fuse in the second direction relative to the holder provides positive visual and mechanical assurance that the fuse is disconnected from the circuit terminals in the fuse box.

  • Patent number: 6102030
Abstract: A horizontal combined air intake and combustion gas vent terminal assembly is provided having improved wind pressure response and anti-recirculation characteristics. The terminal has a vent conduit disposed inside an air intake conduit. A scoop assembly is provided at the intake conduit inlet to increase the intake air pressure at the inlet. The vent conduit is nozzle-like to throttle combustion gases, thereby accelerating the gases and permitting the terminal to project the gases away from the intake conduit terminal. Vent conduit is disposed asymmetrically with intake conduit to further discourage mixing of intake air and combustion gases. The terminal may also be provided with a static pressure measuring means to provide an intrinsic safety shut down system within the terminal in case of blockage of the intake or vent by snow, ice or other debris.

  • Patent number: 5988157
Abstract: A furnace having improved heat exchanger, which is particularly suitable for use in a positive pressure, direct-vented hot air furnace. The heat exchanger has a split housing construction allowing the heat exchanger to be partible into halves. Parting the heat exchanger housing of the present invention permits access to the ceramic combustion chamber disposed therein, facilitating periodic repair and replacement. The partible portions of the present heat exchanger housing are connectable using one of several available connection means, including bolted mating flanges, encircling clamps, and twisting quick-locking means. The connection between the partible portions is gasketed to provide a positive pressure seal of the connection, impeding leakage of pressurized combustion gases from within the heat exchanger to the occupied air.
