Abstract: A method for providing a communication function in a means of transport includes receiving, in a central unit of a communication service provider, a request to use a communication profile present in a means of transport, the request relating to assigning the communication profile to a specific user, and assigning, via the central unit of the communication service provider, the communication profile present in the means of transport to the specific user on the basis of the request in order to make the communication profile usable for the user in the means of transport.

Abstract: A method for providing a communication function in a means of transport includes receiving, in a central unit of a communication service provider in which identification information of a user is stored, a request from the user to use a communication profile in the means of transport. The method also includes receiving, in a central unit of a manager of the means of transport, a request from the central unit of the communication service provider to provide the communication profile in the means of transport. The method further includes enabling provision of the communication profile for the means of transport by the central unit of the manager of the means of transport.

According to the method a first user input indicating that use of the communication profile should be prevented is received at a mobile terminal, the mobile terminal sends a use prevention request to a first server based on the first user input, the first server sends a use prevention command to the user equipment, and the user equipment prevents use of the communication profile based on the use prevention command.

The processing device further receives a deactivation request and an identifier from the external entity and deactivates the communication profile if the received identifier corresponds to the stored identifier. The identifier can be determined by the mobile terminal and transmitted from the mobile terminal to the external entity. The identifier can also be determined by the external entity and transmitted to the mobile terminal.
