  • Publication number: 20240129560
Abstract: Audio splicing is rendered more effective by the use of one or more truncation unit packets inserted into the audio data stream so as to indicate to an audio decoder, for a predetermined access unit, an end portion of an audio frame with which the predetermined access unit is associated, as to be discarded in playout.

  • Publication number: 20050048266
Abstract: Inserts of metal in the plastic of a plastic structural element are coated with a coupling layer of fibre-reinforced plastic, which reduces the abrupt change in stiffness and/or coefficient of thermal expansion at the joining interfaces in the metal-plastic composite. By altering the volume fraction of fibres and/or by of different orientation the fibre layers within the coupling layer, a gradual change in the E-modulus and the thermal expansion coefficient are produced, as a result of which abrupt changes in these values at the composite interfaces can be avoided. The sudden change in stiffness between the plastic material and the metal insert is also reduced by reducing the stiffness of the insert, which again is achieved by specific choice of shape. Preferred, in particular, is a finger-shaped fanning out of the insert in the plastic material.

  • Patent number: 5032130
Abstract: A thigh section having a top end carrying a ball joint element for a femoral prosthesis, including bone nails of different lengths and cross-sections which are selected upon the particular patient femur, and that can be firmly joined with the thigh section by coupling elements. The thigh section may be introduced, into the marrow space of the patient, cement-free and anchored to the bone by two transverse screws in compression/tension fashion.
