Patent number: 11944275Abstract: A system for self-imaging a body portion includes a self-imaging device and an ancillary device that is attachable to the self-imaging device. The self-imaging device has a base member, a camera located within the base member and a guide element for transmitting light along a path extending between the camera and an exposed tip of the guide element that opens out of the self-imaging device at a given side of the device. The ancillary device is arranged to attach to the self-imaging device at said same given side while substantially not obstructing incoming light arriving towards the self-imaging device from being transmitted via the guide element towards the camera.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: ScopeBug, Inc.Inventors: Oded Shorer, Or Ramot, Michael Noonan, Jessica Walsh

Patent number: 11669441Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for recycling memory after a virtual machine reboots. Memory allocated to a rebooting virtual machine instance can be associated with the instance or otherwise marked as to be reserved for use after the virtual machine instance reboots. Subsequently, after the reboot process is initiated, the reserved memory can be reallocated to the virtual machine instance. Memory scrubbing can be ordinarily performed to avoid data leakage between customers, but scrubbing can be inhibited for memory that is returned to a rebooting virtual machine instance. Further features, such as API calls to configure memory recycling, indications to disable recycling, and the like can be supported.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Eden Grail Adogla, Philip John Nesser, II, Steven Michael Noonan

Patent number: 10489208Abstract: Functionality is disclosed herein for managing resource bursting and other operational characteristics of software executing on a virtual machine instance. The mechanism disclosed herein may receive a request to initialize a virtual machine instance. The request might include a virtual machine instance type and a weight value. The virtual machine instance may be instantiated by establishing a virtual machine of the virtual machine instance type and associating the weight value therewith. The utilization of resources by the virtual machine instance may be monitored and the weight value may be adjusted based upon the monitoring. The adjusted weight value might also be utilized when instantiating new virtual machine instances for the same user and/or customer of a service provider network.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2016Date of Patent: November 26, 2019Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Steven Michael Noonan
