  • Publication number: 20200368394
Abstract: Bioprosthetic retinal grafts (or devices) comprising stem cell derived tissues and/or cells may be used to slow the progression of retinal degenerative disease, slow the progression of retinal degenerative disease after traumatic injury, slow the progression of age related macular degeneration (AMD), prevent retinal degenerative disease, prevent retinal degenerative disease after traumatic injury, prevent AMD, restore retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), photoreceptor cells (PRCs) and retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) lost from disease, injury or genetic abnormalities, increasing RPE, PRCs and RCGs, treat RPE, PRCs and RCG defects in a subject, or for other purposes. Bioprosthetic retinal grafts may comprise a bioprosthetic carrier or scaffold suitable for implantation into the ocular space of a subject's eye, to form a bioprosthetic retinal patch.

  • Patent number: 7092718
Abstract: An improved system for the transmission of data over a cellular telephone channel is provided. The system is especially adapted to reduce the cost associated with cellular telephone calls by allowing data transmission only when the channel signal level is greater than a pre-defined value, so as maximize the probability that a transmission will be successful. In addition, the system provides for user transparent reconnection and reestablishment of a dropped link, allowing transmission to continue where dropped without the need to retransmit data already successfully received. As an additional benefit, the system provides a mechanism for call timing and billing so that an estimated bill may be generated based on connection time.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 15, 2006
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
