Abstract: A method and system for managing attributes in a streaming application is disclosed. The system may contain a receiving stream operator that is communicatively coupled with a stream manager. The receiving stream operator may have a capability of storing a selected attribute and creating one or more unique identifiers. The system may contain a cache communicatively coupled with one or more stream operators. The cache may have a capability of storing the selected attributes. The system may also have a retrieving stream operator communicatively coupled with the stream manager. The retrieving stream operator may have a capability of using the unique identifier to access the selected attribute.

Abstract: A bone plate system including a bone plate and a bone screw with an integrated locking mechanism is disclosed. The bone screw includes an elongate member having a threaded shank and a bone screw head that is radially deformable. The integrated locking mechanism sits within the bone screw head and can rotate between a locked condition and an unlocked condition. When the bone screw head is seated within an aperture in the bone plate, rotating the integrated locking mechanism into the locked condition helps to prevent bone screw backout.

Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for offsetting of flush adapters. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes an adapter configured to attach to a flush mechanism configured to provide for a predefined flush capability in a toilet, a gasket attached to adapter, the gasket forming a seal between the flush mechanism and a flush orifice of a flush valve, where the flush valve is configured to seat a sealing member, and means for securing the gasket in position with respect to the flush orifice of the flush valve.

Abstract: A system and method for assigning received channels to preset tuning keys of a receiver. A series of preset keys are sequentially labeled and one preset key, such as the preset key marked “0,” is a pre-defined preset key. An elongated pressing of the pre-defined key causes the currently tuned channel, if it is not assigned to a preset key, to be assigned to an unassigned preset key. If the currently tuned channel is already assigned to a preset key, pressing the pre-defined key instead causes the currently selected channel to be un-assigned from that preset key. Radios with two tuners that each process different sets of radio signals assign channels for a particular tuner to alternating preset keys, allowing acceleration of sequentially selecting channels assigned to pre-set keys by pre-tuning another tuner to the next channel in the sequence.

Abstract: A method is disclosed to calculate combining weight vectors associated with a received composite information signal comprising at least one data stream transmitted from at least four antennae. The method starts with computing a parametric estimate of an impairment covariance matrix including at least a first impairment term associated with common pilots deployed by the antennae. The first impairment term captures effects of interferences of the common pilots. The impairment covariance matrix further includes a data covariance term capturing effects of the at least one data stream and an interference term caused at least partially by contribution of thermal noise of receiver branches. The impairment covariance matrix includes a second impairment term associated with at least one dedicated pilot. Then the method computes the combining weight vector using the computed impairment covariance matrix. A network device performs such method is also disclosed.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus for two-stage light modulation in high-definition digital projection or cinema can include two light modulators. Each light modulator can include a multi-chip imaging system coupled to a total internal reflection prism (TIR) system, which has a light input face and an on-state face. Relay optics can be positioned between the two light modulators. The relay optics can be configured to defocus light received from the pre-modulator and to provide defocused light to the prime modulator using a substantially Gaussian pixel shaping function. The prime modulator can be oriented to receive defocused light from the relay optics at the light input face of its TIR prism system. The pre-modulator can be oriented backwards, so as to receive source light at the on-state face of its TIR prism system and to output pre-modulated light to the relay optics via the light input face of the TIR prism system.

Abstract: In a multi-chip module (MCM), optical waveguides in a first plane convey modulated optical signals among integrated circuits (which are sometimes referred to as ‘chips’). Moreover, an optical-butterfly switch, optically coupled to the optical waveguides, dynamically allocates communication bandwidth among the integrated circuits. This optical-butterfly switch includes optical components in the first plane and a second plane, and optical couplers that couple the modulated optical signals to and from the first plane and the second plane. In this way, the MCM communicates the modulated optical signals among the integrated circuits without optical-waveguide crossings in a given plane.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a method of treating urinary incontinence can include slidably interfitting a first push tube into a first dilator tube disposed at an end of a sling assembly and slidably interfitting the first push tube onto an end of a shaft of a delivery device. The method can also include inserting the shaft transvaginally through a vaginal wall and removing the shaft to implant a portion of the sling assembly in periurethral tissue. The method can also include slidably interfitting a second push tube into a second dilator tube disposed at a second end of the sling assembly and slidably interfitting the second push tube onto the end of the shaft. The method can still further include inserting the shaft transvaginally through the vaginal wall and removing the shaft from the patient to implant a second portion of the sling assembly in periurethral tissue.

Abstract: A bicycle and bicycle parking and lock system wherein a hub locking device that is secured to a bicycle cooperates with a parking rack. The bicycle includes an engagement member that is secured to an axle of the bicycle. The engagement member selectively removably cooperates with a recess formed in the parking and lock system. The parking and lock system includes a number of upstanding members that are positioned to generally flank the front wheel of a bicycle to maintain the bicycle in a generally upright orientation. Each or select number of the upstanding members include a lock system that cooperates with the locking engagement member so as to secure the respective bicycle with respect to the parking system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating customized electronic advertisements are disclosed. A request for an advertisement is received. Viewer data is received and analyzed to determine current viewer features, characteristics, attributes, and/or interest(s). Product data can be extracted from publicly accessible electronic data generated by an ad source organization. The product data can be compared to the current viewer interest(s) to determine which product of the plurality of products most closely aligns with the current interests of the viewer to select a product to be advertised. A customized advertisement can be generated specifically for the viewer using at least a portion of the extracted product data for the product to be advertised.

Abstract: A computing resource service provider may provide developers with access to a build service configured to generate compilation artifacts associated with software development projects. The build service may obtain a build description and source code suitable for generating the compilation artifact. The build service may then cause one or more build resources to be provisioned and included in a build instantiation using computing resources of the service provider. The build instantiation may generate the compilation artifact, using the one or more build resources, based at least in part on the obtained source code. The developer may then be provided with access to the compilation artifact generated by the build instantiation.

A deferral configuration including at least one criterion is also received. The computing device determines whether a criterion is met and defers performance of the operation if it is met. The computing device performs the operation if a criterion is not met.
