  • Publication number: 20230100993
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for verifying an identity of a user through contextual knowledge-based authentication. The system described uses contextual knowledge-based authentication. By verifying an identity of a user through contextual knowledge-based authentication, the verification is both more secure and more intuitive to the user. For example, by relying on confidential and/or proprietary information, the system may generate verification questions, the answers to which are known only by the user.

  • Publication number: 20230102296
Abstract: A processing unit decomposes a matrix for partial processing at a processor-in-memory (PIM) device. The processing unit receives a matrix to be used as an operand in an arithmetic operation (e.g., a matrix multiplication operation). In response, the processing unit decomposes the matrix into two component matrices: a sparse component matrix and a dense component matrix. The processing unit itself performs the arithmetic operation with the dense component matrix, but sends the sparse component matrix to the PIM device for execution of the arithmetic operation. The processing unit thereby offloads at least some of the processing overhead to the PIM device, improving overall efficiency of the processing system.

  • Publication number: 20230102062
Abstract: A graphics processor including geometry and fragment processing logic, and a memory manager arranged to allocate and deallocate memory for use to hold tile data. The memory manager tracks which memory regions are allocated to hold tile data of which subdivisions (e.g. macrotiles) of the render area. Once the fragment processing logic has finished processing the tile data of a subdivision, it sends an identifier of that subdivision to the memory manager for deallocation. The processor further comprises a blocking circuit enabling the fragment processing logic to start processing tile data of a second task while the memory manager is still deallocating some of the memory regions allocated to the subdivisions of a first task; by preventing identifiers of subdivisions of the second task being passed to the memory manager until it has completed deallocating the memory regions allocated to the first task.

  • Publication number: 20230094262
Abstract: A device to hold a fishing rod and reel to assist a user with handling a fishing rod and reel in a hands-free manner. The device is made of a hollow tube for the fishing rod to fit into, connected to a leg plate and uses straps to tighten the device around one's leg and belt. A user of a device and system to hold a fishing rod and reel would place a leg plate against the outside of either their left or right leg and feed the straps around their leg. Connecting the straps will hold the device and system to hold a fishing rod and reel securely in place. A fishing rod handle can then be inserted downward into the hollow tube to allow a person to work on lures, untangle lines, or generally operate the fishing rod in a hands-free manner.

  • Publication number: 20230096922
Abstract: A valve configured to control a flow of a process fluid includes a pair of packing seals separated by a seal gap space along a linear valve stem of the valve, and a pressurization port that can be used to apply a pressurizing fluid, such as nitrogen gas, to the seal gap at a gap pressure that is higher than the process fluid pressure, thereby ensuring that any leakage past the packing seals will be of pressurizing fluid into the process fluid and/or into the environment, and that no process fluid will escape into the environment. The pressure or flow rate of the pressurizing fluid can be monitored to detect and quantify any pressurization fluid leakage past either of the packing seals, so that a maintenance action can be applied to the valve, such as re-tightening or replacing at least one of the packing seals, or replacing the valve.

  • Publication number: 20230099438
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for performing Massive MIMO or Multi-User MIMO using a gradient index sphere (such as a Luneburg Lens). The gradient index sphere may have a plurality of radiators disposed along its outer surface such that each radiator radiates inward toward the center of the sphere so that the sphere focuses the energy from each radiator to form a tight beam. This provides for improved uplink gain for detecting and locating a mobile device within range of the system, and it enables high performance with reduced signal processing required for array-based beamforming.

  • Publication number: 20230099163
Abstract: A processing system includes a processing unit and a memory device. The memory device includes a processing-in-memory (PIM) module that performs processing operations on behalf of the processing unit. An instruction set architecture (ISA) of the PIM module has fewer instructions than an ISA of the processing unit. Instructions received from the processing unit are translated such that processing resources of the PIM module are virtualized. As a result, the PIM module concurrently performs processing operations for multiple threads or applications of the processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20230094340
Abstract: According to some embodiments, disclosed are systems and methods for dynamic optimized activity-assignment processing based on a periodic assessment of user fatigue risk via wearable devices. The disclosed technology receives tracking data related to movements and activities of a plurality of users working at a location and determines a user-specific injury prone score for each user. Based on this, the technology analyzes a current activity assignment schedule, which is modified to correspond to the current capabilities of each user at the location. As a result, a notification is generated and communicated to each user so as to alert them to their new assignment.
