  • Publication number: 20210169334
Abstract: A system and method is provided for imaging and monitoring a tissue, such as a cerebral cortex, of a subject. Access to imaging a tissue, such as cerebral cortex, may be provided by removing a portion of a bone, such as a portion of a skull of the subject. A prosthesis, such as an optically transparent prosthesis, may be used to replace the portion of the skull removed and may be conformed to the same 3D contour of the bone that was removed. A data acquisition system, such as an imaging system, may then be affixed to the skull prosthesis and may be used to acquire image data of the tissue of the subject at high spatial and temporal resolution and without interference from intervening bone material.

  • Publication number: 20210172886
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for identifying and reducing pixel-specific image distortion of an x-ray detector. In one example, an x-ray detector obtains, for various calibration positions, two-dimensional (2D) images of a calibration object. The calibration object comprises reference points that comprise spatial characteristics. Processing circuitry computes an image distortion field across a plurality of pixels of the x-ray detector based on imaged characteristics of the reference points in each of the 2D images, the spatial characteristics of the reference points, and the calibration positions. The processing circuitry computes, based on the computed image distortion field, a correction transform for correcting image distortion across the x-ray detector. The processing circuitry applies the correction field to a preliminary image obtained by the x-ray detector to obtain a corrected image exhibiting reduced pixel-specific image distortion.

  • Publication number: 20210176238
Abstract: A system provides for automated image authentication and external database verification. In particular, the system may perform automatic authentication of an image by extracting data and/or metadata from the image for subsequent analysis. For instance, the extracted data and/or metadata may be compared with historical data to drive authorization processes (e.g., past instances of unauthorized activity). In some embodiments, the system may further use external databases which may be hosted by a trusted third party to perform additional authentication steps and/or verification. In this way, the system may provide a reliable and efficient way to perform authentications.
