The docking receptacles provide docking locations for removably stowing wireless earbuds when the earbuds are not in use. Each docking receptacle includes an electrical interface for electrically interfacing the rechargeable battery of the protective case to the wireless earbuds for recharging. The external electrical connector receives electrical power from an external power source for recharging the rechargeable battery of the protective case.
