  • Publication number: 20240137435
Abstract: A method on a mobile device for a wireless network is described. An audio input is monitored for a trigger phrase spoken by a user of the mobile device. A command phrase spoken by the user after the trigger phrase is buffered. The command phrase corresponds to a call command and a call parameter. A set of target contacts associated with the mobile device is selected based on respective voice validation scores and respective contact confidence scores. The respective voice validation scores are based on the call parameter. The respective contact confidence scores are based on a user context associated with the user. A call to a priority contact of the set of target contacts is automatically placed if the voice validation score of the priority contact meets a validation threshold and the contact confidence score of the priority contact meets a confidence threshold.

  • Patent number: 9570076
Abstract: A method and system for voice recognition are disclosed. In one example embodiment, the method includes receiving voice input information by way of a receiver on a mobile device and performing, by way of at least one processing device on the mobile device, first and second processing operations respectively with respect to first and second voice input portions, respectively, which respectively correspond to and are based at least indirectly upon different respective portions of the voice input information. The first processing operation includes a speech-to-text operation and the second processing operation includes an alternate processing operation. Additionally, the method includes generating recognized voice information based at least indirectly upon results from the first and second processing operations, and performing at least one action based at least in part upon the recognized voice information, where the at least one action includes outputting at least one signal by an output device.

  • Publication number: 20120278471
Abstract: Disclosed are a communication device and a method of a communication device that includes processing by the controller a first scan for shared drives and folders on a wide local area network in accordance with a CIFS Protocol and then processing a second scan for shared drives and folders of a local wide area network in accordance with an Address Resolution Protocol. An Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a computer network host's link layer or hardware address when only it's Internet Layer (IP) or Network Layer address is known. An ARP port scan is a low level request and answer protocol that uses a simple message format that contains one address resolution request or response. IP addresses are the result of an ARP port scan. In this way, user can be provided with the opportunity to connect to all available local servers.

  • Publication number: 20110319136
Abstract: There is described a method of a wireless communication device for managing status components for global call control. A selectable region is displayed at a display. A first user input is then detected at an input component associated with the display corresponding to selection of the selectable region. Next, an active call status component associated with a current call is displayed at the display in response to the first user input. A second user input is detected at the input component corresponding to selection of the current call status component. Thereafter, active call information associated with an active call is displayed at the display or an active call is terminated in response to detecting the second user input.
