  • Patent number: 8559901
Abstract: A mobile station including a processor and a memory storing program instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine if any candidate control channels of a list of candidate control channels are ineligible for selection by belonging to a private network to which the mobile station is not permitted access, analyze those candidate control channels not determined to be ineligible for selection to identify a primary candidate control channel, and attempt to select the primary candidate control channel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 22, 2009
Date of Patent: October 15, 2013
    Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLC
    Inventor: Michael P. Moore
  • Patent number: 7843883
Abstract: A teleservice server in a wireless network provides an interface between a mobile station and an Internet protocol network thereby facilitating data transfers between these elements. The server translates datagrams from the IP network into a format suitable for transmission over a wireless network that provides voice communication capabilities. The server also translates data messages received from the mobile station over the wireless network into a format suitable for appropriate transmission in the IP network.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 10, 2004
Date of Patent: November 30, 2010
    Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLC
Inventors: Brian Kevin Daly, David William James Holmes, Michael Luna, Michael P. Moore, John Eric Myhre, Adrian David Smith

  • Publication number: 20090061867
Abstract: A method for re-selecting control channels in a mobile station reduces the use of resources by limiting an evaluation of candidate control channels to those channels which satisfy certain criteria and are deemed to be eligible control channels. As a consequence, resources are not spent on attempting to re-select a control channel that is not compatible with the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6393014
Abstract: Methods and systems to communicate data to a mobile station. A request to transfer data from an internet Protocol (IP) network to a mobile station ca be received. Whether the mobile station is registered in a first network of a plurality of networks can be determined. The plurality of networks can include the first network operating under a first protocol and a second network operating under a second protocol, and the second protocol can be different than the first protocol. If the mobile station is registered in the first network, the data can be adapted to be transferred via first network and transferred to the mobile station via the first network.
