  • Publication number: 20030018516
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method for managing inventory of a stock item over a number of convenient time periods. The method comprises receiving an updated demand forecast and updating projected forecast data; determining for a given time period: projected inventory level using the projected forecast data, supplier commitment data, and prior periods' projected inventory levels; and days of supply of inventory using the projected inventory level for a current period and forecast data for subsequent periods. If the days of supply is out of a predetermined range for a given time period, then corrective actions are taken. Corrective actions include modifying the supplier commitment data by increasing the amount of commitment or delaying shipments.

  • Patent number: 6011699
Abstract: An electronic device such as a radiotelephone (100) includes a bottom housing (108) defining a first hinge aperture (2207) and a slot (2208) adjacent the first hinge aperture. A top housing (102) defines a second hinge aperture (2223) having an inner rotation surface (2226). A shaft (2210) extends from the first housing at the first hinge aperture. The shaft is sized for insertion in the second hinge aperture and terminates in a bearing surface (2216), the inner rotation surface pivoting on the bearing surface as the second housing moves in relation to the first housing. The shaft and the bearing surface both define a shaft slot (2218) aligned with the slot in the first housing for routing a flexible circuit element (216) between the first housing and the second housing.

  • Patent number: 5746129
Abstract: A compliant doctoring cup particularly suited for inking non-flat plates includes a body defining a cavity for containing ink and a blade with two free ends coupled to the body along a periphery of the cavity. The body of the cup defines a channel generally along a periphery of the cavity and the blade is positioned within the channel. A resilient member, for example, a liner, interfaces the blade to the body of the cup. The liner contains the ink and defines the channel.
