    Abstract: The process of producing a lower alkyl ester of phosphorochloridothioic acid by the chlorination of alkyl esters of dithiophosphoric acid in which the chlorine added after the addition of from 0.63 to 0.86 moles of chlorine per mole of phosphorodithioic acid is diluted with an inert gas. The disclosed process improves product yields, and purity, and advantageously provides for simple HCl recovery.

    Abstract: An improved method and composition for controlling foam in non-aqueous fluid systems having a tendency to foam. The improved method consists of adding to the system a foam control composition containing an organo-silicone antifoam agent and an alkanolamide. A method is also provided for inhibiting foam formation in such non-aqueous fluid systems by adding to the system an alkanolamide.
