Publication number: 20250307283Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for performing automatic actions related to a media asset based on a number of user interactions mentioning the media asset. In some embodiments, control circuitry receives a selection for a number of times a media asset is identified in one or more monitored interactions of a user to cause an action to be performed. The control circuitry further monitors a plurality of interactions of the user to store respective interaction data. For each interaction of the plurality of interactions of the user, the control circuitry accesses data of the respective interaction, identifies respective mentions of the media asset during the respective interaction, and increments a count of media asset mentions. The control circuitry performs the action based on determining that the count of media asset mentions equals or exceeds the selected number of times the media asset is to be identified.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2025Publication date: October 2, 2025Inventors: Brian Fife, Jason Braness, Michael Papish, Thomas Steven Woods

Patent number: 12353453Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating automatic program recommendations based on user interactions. In some embodiments, control circuitry processes verbal data received during an interaction between a user of a user device and a person with whom the user is interacting. The control circuitry analyzes the verbal data to automatically identify a media asset referred to during the interaction by at least one of the user and the person with whom the user is interacting. The control circuitry adds the identified media asset to a list of media assets associated with the user of the user device. The list of media assets is transmitted to a second user device of the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2023Date of Patent: July 8, 2025Assignee: Adeia Guides Inc.Inventors: Brian Fife, Jason Braness, Michael Papish, Thomas Steven Woods

Publication number: 20250021299Abstract: Disclosed herein are example techniques for multimedia experience based on biometric data. An example implementation may involve receiving first biometric data representing one or more first biological characteristics of an individual. After receiving the first biometric data, the example implementation may involve correlating the one or more first biological characteristics of the individual with a listening state of the individual. The example implementation may further involve receiving second biometric data representing one or more second biological characteristics of the individual. After receiving the second biometric data, the example implementation may involve determining that the one or more second biological characteristics corresponds to the one or more first biological characteristics.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2024Publication date: January 16, 2025Inventors: Peter Pedersen, Michael Papish, Eric Clayton

Patent number: 10091552Abstract: Methods and systems for a media guidance application that can identify and display a portion of a media asset that is of interest to a user. In some embodiments, the media guidance application may extract a portion of the media asset that encompasses a particular main action sequence. The extracted portion may also include an amount of additional content (e.g., content immediately before or after the main action sequence) that the media guidance application determines is necessary for the user to understand the main action sequence. In some embodiments, the media guidance application may extract several media assets, so that a user may graze through the extracted portions in series.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2012Date of Patent: October 2, 2018Assignee: Rovi Guides, Inc.Inventor: Michael Papish
