  • Publication number: 20240121808
Abstract: A method for a first UE to perform sidelink communication with a second UE is provided. The method initiates a sidelink channel with the second UE based on a first resource set in a plurality of resource sets stored in the first UE. The method then performs a ranging process to identify at least a first distance between the first UE and the second UE when the sidelink channel between the first and second UEs is established. The method further sets a timer based on at least the identified first distance, the timer for determining when to initiate a subsequent sidelink channel with the second UE. when the timer is expired, the method initiates the subsequent sidelink channel with the second UE and performs a subsequent ranging process to identify at least a second distance between the first UE and the second UE.

  • Patent number: 11945112
Abstract: Simulated motion of the papillary muscles in a heart simulator is provided that simulates natural motion of the papillary muscles. This improves heart valve simulation. This can be done with a six degree of freedom robotic actuator (e.g., a Stewart platform or the like) appropriately driven by a controller. This can also be done with a robotic actuator that provides constrained motion of its effector by including a mechanical linkage, as long as the resulting simulated papillary muscle motion includes time-varying position and orientation of the papillary muscle.

  • Publication number: 20240107557
Abstract: A method for a first UE to perform sidelink communication with a second UE is provided. The method receives a first resource set from a cell to establish a first sidelink channel with the second UE, the first resource set indicating at least a first distance between the first and second UEs. The method establishes the first sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set and transmits a set of parameters associated with the first sidelink channel to the cell. The method also sets a first timer based on at least the first distance, the first timer for determining when to establish a second sidelink channel with the second UE. When the first timer is expired and no second resource set is received from the cell, the method establishes the second sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set.

  • Publication number: 20240078695
Abstract: In various examples, surface profile estimation and bump detection may be performed based on a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud. The 3D point cloud may be filtered in view of a portion of an environment including drivable free-space, and within a threshold height to factor out other objects or obstacles other than a driving surface and protuberances thereon. The 3D point cloud may be analyzed—e.g., using a sliding window of bounding shapes along a longitudinal or other heading direction—to determine one-dimensional (1D) signal profiles corresponding to heights along the driving surface. The profile itself may be used by a vehicle—e.g., an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle—to help in navigating the environment, and/or the profile may be used to detect bumps, humps, and/or other protuberances along the driving surface, in addition to a location, orientation, and geometry thereof.
