  • Publication number: 20170211585
Abstract: A double inlet blower wheel has a plurality of blades having at least one notch. A center disk has an outer diameter and a plurality of slots disposed about a circumference. The slots extend inwardly from the outer diameter of the center disk. The center disk has roll-over tabs for each of the slots, wherein each of the blades engages a respective one of the slots. The plurality of blades are fully encapsulated about a periphery, where an edge of the blades defines a blower wheel outer diameter, where the outer diameter of the center disk is less than the blower wheel outer diameter. A support disk is coupled to a central region of the center disk, providing a greater thickness of the center disk and adds rigidity to the center disk. A pair of inlet rings also respectively secures opposing ends of each of said plurality of blades.

  • Publication number: 20150176595
Abstract: A dual-sided impeller for a centrifugal blower assembly is provided. The dual-sided impeller comprises a plurality of fan ribs defined in a single continuous metal sheet and extending from a hub toward a circumference of the impeller. Each of the plurality of fan ribs has first and second vanes, wherein the first and second vanes extend in opposing directions relative to a plate region of the impeller. The first and second vanes can comprise one or more of a forward-curved vane, a backward-curved vane, a forward-inclined vane, a backward-inclined vane, and a radial vane. The centrifugal blower assembly comprises a blower housing, wherein the dual-sided impeller is disposed within the blower housing. The dual-sided impeller is continuous and is stamped and/or pressed from a single sheet of metal, such as one or more of a sheet of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
