Abstract: A method of storing an electronic document on a computer. The computer is coupled to a system including at least one document handling device connected to the computer via a communications network. The method includes, in the document handling device, determining a user identity and scanning a document to generate the electronic document. The method also includes, in at least part of the system identifying the computer using the determined user identity, and causing the scanned electronic document to be transferred to the identified computer via the communications network, thereby the electronic document being stored on the identified computer.
