Patent number: 11221599Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for adjusting environmental conditions based on automatically and manually generated requests. A commissioned unit comprising at least one IP luminaire (140, 150), transmits a signal comprising one or more identification codes. The signal may be, for example, a coded light signal. An environment control device (160) receives the signal, detects user input indicating one or more preferred environmental conditions, and transmits an environment control request comprising the one or more preferred environmental conditions. An environment manager module (110) receives the environment control request, generates an environment control command using the control request, and transmits the environment control command to one or more commissioned units to alter environmental conditions in a space in accordance with the user input.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2020Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: SIGNIFY HOLDING B.V.Inventors: Mark Henricus Verberkt, Jurgen Mario Vangeel, Lokesh Narayan, Wijnand Johannes Rietman, Simon Dingle, Jules Martinus Adrianus Gerardus De Laat, Sanjay Bhat, Tony Petrus Van Endert, Michael Petrus Franciscus Verschoor, Petrus Johannes Lenoir

Patent number: 10034211Abstract: The disclosure describes is a channel switching strategy and corresponding protocol for a mesh network which comprises a segment controller (SC) and a large number of outdoor luminaire controllers (OLCs) or other network nodes. A channel switching process is initiated and managed by the SC which transmits a channel switching command to all nodes in the system. Following the actual channel switch, the SC delegate's responsibility to request an orphan node to switch to the new channel to a selected delegate node which is a neighbor node of the orphan node. The selection of the delegate node may be based on a prioritization. When an OLC does not receive any messages for a specified, prolonged period of time, it may scan available frequency bands to find the (new) channel in which the networked system operates at that time.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2013Date of Patent: July 24, 2018Assignee: PHILIPS LIGHTING HOLDING B.V.Inventors: Supriyo Chatterjea, Lei Feng, Tim Corneel Wilhelmus Schenk, Daniel Martin Goergen, Michael Petrus Franciscus Verschoor, Winfried Antonius Henricus Berkvens

Patent number: 9497832Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for adjusting environmental conditions within a physical structure comprising a plurality of linked commissioned units. One or more occupancy sensors (140-1, 150-1) produce data indicating that a designated zone has transitioned from an unoccupied state to an occupied state. A first one or more luminaires (140-2, 150-2) associated with a first one of the plurality of linked commissioned units (120D), produces a background level of illumination within a predetermined reaction period following the production of the sensor data. The first one of the plurality of linked commissioned units transmits data indicative of the state change of the designated zone, and at least a second one of the plurality of linked commissioned units receives the data indicative of the state change, and causes at least a second one or more luminaires to alter illumination.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2015Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: PHILIPS LIGHTING HOLDING B.V.Inventors: Mark Henricus Verberkt, Jurgen Mario Vangeel, Lokesh Narayan, Wijnand Johannes Rietman, Simon Dingle, Jules Martinus Adrianus Gerardus De Laat, Sanjay Bhat, Tony Petrus Van Endert, Michael Petrus Franciscus Verschoor, Petrus Johannes Lenoir

Patent number: 9258136Abstract: A data processing system has a browser with scripting engine means for executing a script. The scripting engine means implements a public scripting engine and a private scripting engine. The browser is configured to have the script executed by the public scripting engine if the script does not require access to a pre-determined resource at the system. The browser is configured to have the script executed by the private scripting engine if the script requires access to the pre-determined resource. Only the private scripting engine has an interface for enabling the script to access the predetermined resource. The scripting engine means is configured to prevent the private scripting engine from communicating data to the public scripting engine or to a non-approved server external to the data processing system.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2010Date of Patent: February 9, 2016Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Michael Petrus Franciscus Verschoor, Walter Dees

Publication number: 20150350987Abstract: The invention relates to a channel switching strategy and corresponding protocol for a mesh network which comprises a segment controller, SC, (10) and a large number of outdoor luminaire controllers, OLCs, (20) or other network nodes. A channel switching process is initiated and managed by the SC (10) which transmits a channel switching command to all nodes in the system. Following the actual channel switch, the SC (10) delegates the responsibility to request an orphan node (24) to switch to the new channel to a selected delegate node (22) which may be a neighbor node of the orphan node (24). The selection of the delegate node (22) may be based on a previous link quality or geographical closeness. When an OLC does not receive any response messages for a specified, prolonged period of time, it may scan available frequency bands to find the (new) channel in which the networked system operates at that time.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2013Publication date: December 3, 2015Inventors: SUPRIYO CHATTERJEA, LEI FENG, TIM CORNEEL WILHELMUS SCHENK, DANIEL MARTIN GOERGEN, MICHAEL PETRUS FRANCISCUS VERSCHOOR, WINFRIED ANTONIUS HENRICUS BERKVENS
