  • Publication number: 20200055075
Abstract: A coating tool includes a holder having an applicator head extending between a first end and a second end. The applicator head is hollow along at least part of its length to define an internal cavity delimited by an inner wall. The applicator head has an outer rim at the first end. A foam applicator has a collar portion attached to the outer rim of the applicator head, and a body portion extending from the collar portion inwardly into the applicator head and disposed within the internal cavity to be displaceable relative to the inner wall. The foam applicator has an applicator opening extending through the collar portion and at least part of the body portion. The foam applicator is made of a foam material which, upon receiving a coating, expands inwardly to reduce a volume of the applicator opening. A coating method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7125352
Abstract: In this method, a braided fiber envelope is slid over the core of the hockey stick blade and a promoted resin is applied on the core and the fiber envelope. At least one pre-cured reinforcement panel is provided on at least one side of the blade. The resulting assembly is heat pressed so as to secure the reinforcement panel to the blade and shape the blade. A hockey stick shaft constructed in accordance with this method is also disclosed. This construction provides a lighter hockey stick blade with improved mechanical properties compared to previous ones.

  • Patent number: 6696001
Abstract: A method for making a hockey stick shaft by a double pressing process, and an apparatus for making the same. The double pressing process consists of pulling resin soaked rovings through heated mold cavities. A core is inserted between upper and lower rovings, the press is closed, and upper and lower laminates are molded on simultaneously, using heat and pressure. The hockey stick shaft made therefrom has two opposite surfaces, each of the surfaces being provided with a fiberglass roving reinforcement along each opposite edge and a graphite roving reinforcement fiber between the two fiberglass roving means.
