  • Patent number: 11858786
Abstract: An electronic module that dampens torsional oscillation of an object rotating in a horizontal plane in a system that includes a motor control. The electronic module includes a memory that is configured to store a mass-dependent value of the object or of rotating parts of the system, a housing, and a processor that is positioned within the housing. The processor is configured to receive a mass-dependent value of the object, store the mass-dependent value of the object in the memory, calculate a torsional oscillation dampening signal using an algorithm that is based at least in part on the mass-dependent value of the object or of the rotating parts of the system, and transmit the torsional oscillation dampening signal to the motor control thereby dampening torsional oscillation of the object rotating in the horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 5296786
Abstract: A voltage switching arrangement for an electrical power control system including a plurality of switches for connecting and disconnecting voltage from the input to a power transfer network which provides power for a load. A time delay circuit prevents the voltage connected to the input to the power transfer network from being disconnected for a predetermined time period after the control system has been turned off. The power transfer network switches from an on-mode to the off-mode during said time delay period. The voltage connecting switches include an electromechanical DC relay, and the time delay circuit includes a capacitor cooperating with the relay to maintain the relay energized for the time delay period after the control system has been turned off. Safeguards are provided to prevent simultaneous connection of voltage in the forward and reverse directions to the input of the power transfer network.
