    Abstract: In accordance with the present invention there is provided an apparatus and method for balancing an electric ceiling fan. The apparatus includes a circular hollow ring connected to the rotating housing of a ceiling fan motor, or to the ceiling fan blades, which ring contains a plurality of metal spheres, or liquid, movable within the ring to balance the ceiling fan. The method of the invention includes connecting a circular hollow ring to the rotating portion of a ceiling fan, and placing liquid or metal spheres inside the circular hollow ring to balance the ceiling fan.
