  • Patent number: 9562523
Abstract: A wobble drive mechanism for coupling a rotary motion to a reciprocating motion comprising a diagonal plate coupled to a rotary motion axis driving a wobble carrier having a flat side in sliding contact with the diagonal plate and a spherical side in contact with a spherical bearing recess. The wobble carrier has a bore containing at least one reciprocating drive shoe. The reciprocating drive shoe may be coupled to a piston operating within a cylinder. The reciprocating drive shoe may be free to move in the bore linearly and/or rotationally. In various embodiments, the reciprocating drive shoe comprises two or more components. In various embodiments the piston is coupled to the shoe via a fixed rod section and the fixed rod section terminates in, for example, a double cylindrical bearing T section or a spherical bearing. The reciprocating drive may operate various devices, for example, pump or motor devices.

  • Patent number: 9284930
Abstract: A combined injector and fuel pump suitable for high pressure direct injection of heavy fuels into Diesel engines, in particular small light weight Diesel engines. The injector utilizes a piezoelectric actuator driving a piston assembly comprising an inlet reed check valve disposed thereon. The piston may house an injection needle valve component spring loaded against the piston on one end of the needle component and a valve seat on the other end of the needle component. Fuel enters an inlet port coupled to an inlet passage within the piston. Piezoelectric actuator contraction transfers fuel from the inlet passage through the reed valve to a pressurization chamber. Piezoelectric actuator expansion drives the piston to pressurize the fuel in the pressurization chamber, which forces open the needle valve and nozzle assembly, injecting a finely atomized mist of fuel into a cylinder. A poppet injection valve embodiment is described.

  • Patent number: 8771799
Abstract: A system for spray delivery of liquids comprising a motor axially coupled to one or more pistons through a wobble plate coupling. Each piston feeds an input port of a swirl chamber spray nozzle. Each piston may separately pulse the swirl chamber using a different injection point. In one embodiment, the spray nozzle, swirl chamber, feed channels and cylinder heads for the cylinders may be formed as a single integrated casting. In one embodiment, the sprayer may include an intermediate plate rotatably mounted on the wobble plate. The sprayer may include a piston cap with a flat contact with the wobble plate/intermediate plate and a spherical interface with the piston. In a further embodiment, the system may be configured for handheld application of liquids and may comprise a tank for holding the liquid, a power source and control actuator together with the spray pump and nozzle in a hand operable package.

  • Patent number: 8746585
Abstract: A power trigger sprayer comprising an integrated nozzle and pump assembly. The pump may comprise one or more pistons. Each piston feeds an input port of a swirl chamber spray nozzle. The nozzle is pulsed at a high rate, producing a predetermined spray pattern. In a further embodiment, the sprayer may be configured for handheld application of liquids and may comprise a tank for holding the liquid, a power source and control actuator together with the spray pump and nozzle in a hand operable unit. The sprayer may comprise a drip guard for directing drip flow away from the trigger and hand grip portion of the sprayer. The sprayer may include a battery within the hand grip portion. The battery may be in a battery module with grip/latch tabs allowing easy removal and replacement of the battery.

  • Patent number: 7721716
Abstract: A combined injector and fuel pump suitable for high pressure direct injection of heavy fuels into Diesel engines, in particular small light weight Diesel engines as may be used in small aircraft. The injector utilizes a piezoelectric actuator driving a piston assembly comprising an inlet reed check valve disposed thereon. Fuel enters an inlet port coupled to an inlet chamber on a first side of the piston. Piezoelectric actuator contraction transfers fuel from the inlet chamber through the reed valve to the pressurization chamber on a second side of the piston. Piezoelectric actuator expansion drives the piston to pressurize the fuel in the pressurization chamber, which forces open a conical annular valve and nozzle assembly injecting a finely atomized mist of fuel into the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5626356
Abstract: A dolly distributes weight between a highway truck and trailer while at the same time maintaining an extended wheelbase between load bearing axles. A front end of the dolly includes a king pin that joins to a sliding fifth wheel located on the truck frame. A second fifth wheel is joined to the rear end of the dolly and receives a corresponding king pin on the front end of the trailer. A pivot assembly is joined to a center section of the dolly and is pivotally joined to a rear end of the truck frame. The pivot assembly serves to pivot weight between the front and rear end of the dolly and also maintains the dolly in a rigid longitudinal alignment with the truck. Air bags are located between the steerable dolly wheels and the the rear end of the dolly to further increase adjustability of trailer weight distribution.
