  • Patent number: 11980401
Abstract: Two implant devices cooperate to form a single reinforcement device for minimizing the risk of future hip fractures in the vulnerable as being at significant risk for hip fracture. The two implant devices are sequentially inserted through the same incision and each has a respective head portion, a respectively upwardly or downwardly curved intermediate portion preferably having a generally constant rectangular cross section, and a tapered tail portion, with the head portion of the first implant device having a suitably shaped and positioned opening adapted to receive the constant cross section portion of the second device, and with an enlarged head portion of the second implant device adapted to maintain the second device at a desired orientation relative to the first device and to constrain the second device from excessive insertion relative to the first device after the two devices have been sequentially inserted through the single incision.

  • Publication number: 20240130688
Abstract: This relates to methods for measuring irregularities in a signal and corresponding devices. The devices can include a PPG sensor unit configured to detect multiple occurrences of a given event in the measured signal(s) over a sampling interval. In some instances, the device can register the occurrences of the events. In some examples, the device can include one or more motion sensors configured to detect whether the device is in a low-motion state. The device may delay initiating measurements when the device is not in a low-motion state to enhance measurement accuracy. Examples of the disclosure further include resetting the sample procedure based on one or more factors such as the number of non-qualifying measurements. In some examples, the device can be configured to perform both primary and secondary measurements, where the primary measurements can include readings using a set of operating conditions different from the secondary measurements.

  • Patent number: 10245083
Abstract: Two implant devices cooperate to form a single reinforcement device for minimizing the risk of future hip fractures in the vulnerable intertrochanteric and adjacent femoral neck regions of a patient identified as being at significant risk for hip fracture.

  • Patent number: 5324295
Abstract: A convergence guide is provided that is particularly useful in arthroscopic knee surgery to allow the drilling of two guide pins starting at different places on the outside of the knee but converging to the same spot in the center of the knee. A pair of offset members are arranged in the convergence guide to facilitate adjustment of the position of the pins to converge at one of a plurality of predetermined distances. Each offset member is itself useful as an offset guide to drill a second guide pin through a bone in parallel proximity to a first pin disposed in the bone. The guide has a plurality of parallel offset holes set at predetermined distances in an array for enabling the guide to slide over and pivot around the first pin through one hole and receive the second pin through another hole.
