  • Publication number: 20100235544
Abstract: A method and system for the assignment of security group information using a proxy is disclosed. The method includes receiving an address of a network device at a first network device, receiving a security group of the network device at the first network device and associating the address information and the security group information with one another at the first network device. The first network device is coupled to a second network device. The address is represented by address information, which is received from the second network device. The security group is identified using the security group information, which indicates the network device is a member of the security group. The address information and the security group information are associated with one another by storing the address information and the security group information at the first network device.

  • Publication number: 20100155294
Abstract: A process is provided to produce an ultra low sulfur diesel with less than about 10 ppm sulfur using a two-phase or liquid-phase continuous reaction zone to convert a diesel boiling range distillate preferably obtained from a mild hydrocracking unit. In one aspect, the diesel boiling range distillate is introduced once-through to the liquid-phase continuous reaction zone over-saturated with hydrogen in an amount effective so that the liquid phase remains substantially saturated with hydrogen throughout the reaction zone as the reactions proceed.

  • Patent number: 7710957
Abstract: Several different spanning trees are calculated for a network. The network has several different ingress points via which packets can enter the network. Each of the spanning trees is associated with (at least) one of the ingress points, such that different spanning trees are associated with different ingress points. Packets that enter the network via a particular ingress point are forwarded through the network according to the spanning tree associated with that particular ingress point.

  • Patent number: 7706364
Abstract: A virtual network device cluster includes several different virtual network device sub-units, which collectively operate as a single logical network device. The virtual network device cluster identifies the virtual network device sub-unit via which a given packet enters the virtual network device cluster. A packet is forwarded through the virtual network device cluster based on which virtual network device sub-unit has been identified for that packet. In one embodiment, a method involves receiving a packet via a first interface of a first one of several virtual network device sub-units of a virtual network device and associating the packet with the first one of the virtual network device sub-units. The method also involves inhibiting the packet from being sent via an interface of one of the virtual network device sub-units, in response to the packet being associated with the first one of the virtual network device sub-units.

  • Publication number: 20100090055
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a pylon has six pylon mounting links for mounting the pylon to an airframe. Each link is considered “near-rigid” and has a spherical-bearing rod-end on both ends such that the link can only transmit axial loads. At least one of the links has a mass carried within the link and selectively moveable by an actuating means along the axis of the link in an oscillatory manner for attenuating vibrations traveling axially through the link. The actuating means may be an electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or piezoelectric system. By mounting each link in a selected orientation relative to the other links, the actuating means may be operated in a manner that attenuates axial vibration that would otherwise be transmitted through the link and into the airframe.

  • Publication number: 20100067374
Abstract: Disclosed are, inter alia, methods, apparatus, computer-storage media, mechanisms, and means associated with loss of reducing flooding in a bridged network, typically including a device directly connected to multiple upstream bridges. These bridges are configured such that the device receives broadcast/multicast traffic from a single interface of one of the bridges, while allowing unicast traffic over each of the communications links connecting the device to the bridges. In one configuration, the device implements virtual machine(s), each including a virtual network interface associated with a MAC address; and the directly connected bridges are configured, for each particular MAC address of these MAC addresses of the virtual interfaces, such that one and only one of the bridges will forward packets having the particular MAC address as its destination address over a communications link directly connected to the device.

  • Publication number: 20100044507
Abstract: A crash attenuation system for an aircraft, the system having an airbag carried by the aircraft and inflatable generally adjacent an exterior of the aircraft. The airbag has at least one vent for releasing gas from the interior of the airbag. A first gas source is in fluid communication with the interior of the airbag for inflating the airbag with gas generated provided by the first gas source. A vent valve is provided for controlling a flow of gas through each vent, each vent valve being selectively configurable between an open state, in which gas can pass through the associated vent from the interior of the airbag, and a closed state, in which gas is retained within the interior of the airbag. A second gas source is provided for at least partially re-inflating the airbag after venting of gas through the at least one vent.

  • Patent number: 7669244
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating user group identifiers using a permissions matrix is disclosed. The permissions matrix includes an entry that is associated with a row and a column of the permissions matrix. The row of the permissions matrix is indexed with a first role and the column of the permissions matrix is indexed with a second role. A data structure implementing such a method can include, for example, a user group identifier matrix. Alternatively, a method is disclosed in which the expiration of a user group identifier is detected. In such a case, the user group identifier is updated by accessing a user group identifier matrix.

  • Patent number: 7639605
Abstract: A system and method detects and responds to failures occurring in a virtual switch. The virtual switch is formed from two or more physical switches interconnected by a Virtual Switch Link (VSL). One physical switch is elected the Master, and it executes a link aggregation protocol for the virtual switch. If the VSL fails, one of the other physical switches assumes that it should become the Master for the virtual switch, and it begins executing the link aggregation protocol. By adding information unique to the physical switches in the control packets of the link aggregation protocol, remote switches can identify when the VSL fails, and report this condition to the original Master. In response, the original Master or the new Master takes corrective action.

  • Publication number: 20090288939
Abstract: The apparatus comprises at least two distillation zones located within the column shell to produce an overhead and bottoms product from the first distillation zone and an intermediate product from the second distillation zone. A partition separates the two zones to prevent mass transfer across the boundary between the zones while permitting heat transfer across the boundary. A conduit provides fluid communication between a side draw stage in the first distillation zone and the second distillation zone.

  • Publication number: 20090288940
Abstract: The process employs at least two distillation zones located within a column shell to produce an overhead and bottoms product from the first distillation zone and an intermediate product from the second distillation zone. Fluid is withdrawn from a side draw stage in the first distillation zone and passed through a conduit to the second distillation zone. A partition envelopes the second distillation zone to prevent mass transfer with the first distillation zone proximate the partition. The second distillation zone may be located relative to the first distillation zone to benefit from heat transfer across the partition.

  • Publication number: 20090212246
Abstract: A gasket fits between a deck plate and a solenoid valve in a lifter oil manifold assembly. The valve has a planar end surface with valve ports. The gasket has gasket ports for alignment with the valve ports. The gasket further has a planar sealing surface. The planar sealing surface on the gasket surrounds the gasket ports, and abuts the end surface of the solenoid valve fully around the valve ports. The gasket preferably includes a rib structure that extends lengthwise to surround the array of gasket ports. The rib structure is deflectable to the plane of the sealing surface under a clamping force applied to the gasket by the deck plate and the end surface of the valve.
