  • Patent number: 11980726
Abstract: Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that secures a medical instrument (such as a catheter or the like) in place relative to a skin penetration point using subcutaneous anchors. In some implementations, the anchor device can be installed using a technique in which the subcutaneous anchors undergo relatively little or no flexing when being inserted through the skin into the subcutaneous region between the skin and underlying muscle tissue which may be occupied by fatty tissue.

  • Publication number: 20240152245
Abstract: A computer system displays a first object that includes at least a first portion of the first object and a second portion of the first object and detects a first gaze input that meets first criteria, wherein the first criteria require that the first gaze input is directed to the first portion of the first object in order for the first criteria to be met. In response, the computer system displays a first control element that corresponds to a first operation associated with the first object, wherein the first control element was not displayed prior to detecting that the first gaze input met the first criteria, and detects a first user input directed to the first control element. In response to detecting the first user input directed to the first control element, the computer system performs the first operation with respect to the first object.

  • Publication number: 20240082545
Abstract: Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device that receives a medical instrument (such as a catheter or the like) and secures the instrument in place relative to a skin penetration point. In some circumstances, the anchor device may allow the anchor device to be used after medical instrument is already in place without the need for a second penetration point for the anchor device.

  • Patent number: 11920709
Abstract: An expansion loop for a piping system. The expansion loop has a first flexible conduit with a first end and a second end and a second flexible conduit with a first end and a second end. A first rigid conduit is connected between the first ends of the first and second flexible conduits. Additional rigid conduits are connected to both of the second ends of the flexible conduits. These additional rigid conduits include a stainless-steel elbow, a conversion conduit, and a copper conduit. The expansion loop may be installed wherein the flexible conduits are bent, when fluid flows, the flexible conduits straighten out and are not bent.

  • Publication number: 20100139386
Abstract: An apparatus for estimating a parameter of a borehole disposed in an earth formation, the system includes: an injection unit configured to inject at least one radio frequency identification device (RFID) into a fluid configured to be disposed in the borehole; and a collection unit configured to receive at least a portion of the fluid, the collection unit comprising a detector that detects at least one of the at least one RFID and data contents thereof; wherein the detector provides output for estimating the parameter. A method for estimating a parameter of a borehole is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5142585
Abstract: Speech processing apparatus has a store containing a reference vocabulary of words and carries out active word selection in accordance with mode data supplied to the apparatus. After this, the apparatus performs dynamic template adaptation in dependence on the output of a sensor that monitors environmental influences on the speaker of the kind that modify speech sounds made by the speaker. The sensor may be responsive to vibration or acceleration forces on the speaker, the apparatus using information about how vowel and consonant groupings are influenced by forces on the speaker to perform the template adaptation. Pattern matching is used to compare the speech sounds of the speaker with the modified signals after template adaptation to identify the most likely word spoken.

  • Patent number: 4110133
Abstract: A method of growing semiconductor compounds which are formed from elements of group III with elements of group V by liquid phase epitaxy. A suitable solvent is provided in contact with a source of the compound to be grown, the solution is heated to a predetermined temperature and the solute is allowed to come to equilibrium with the solvent. The solution is then subjected to a rapid, relatively small decrease in temperature to produce supersaturation of the solution. The temperature is then maintained substantially constant and, after a predetermined first period of time at the constant temperature, the solution is brought into contact with a substrate on which the compound is to be grown for a predetermined second period of time.
