Abstract: Calculating and validating energy savings. Energy savings from programs such as telework are calculated and validated through the use of authenticated remote access systems. A person or device working away from the place of work authenticates themselves with a remote access system using a personal digital device. Through such authenticated remote access logs including location information, systems can determine where a person and/or device is, and is not. Energy savings can be calculated based not only on the energy expenditures of avoided travel, but also on the energy expenditures saved at the place of work location. These energy savings may be summed over employees and/or devices and/or places of work. Energy savings are documented, and may be expressed in terms of KWH, BTUs, metric tons of CO2, or other similarly derivable units. These may be used for example for credit trading.

Abstract: A module for interconnecting an AC power line to a load such as a lamp, which includes a first switch. The module detects the state of the first switch and then provides power to the load when the switch is closed. Sequentially opening and closing the first switch can be used as a command to dim the lamp. The module may also include a transceiver which communicates the state of the switch to the other modules thereby allowing a plurality of devices to be controlled by the first switch.

Abstract: A security map display and alarm monitor is disclosed that is configured by inserting a site map and drawing lines from security devices or zones shown on the map to indicator clusters located around the border of the map. The indicator clusters indicate the status of the security devices and allow the operator to respond to alarms and change the status of the security devices.
