  • Patent number: 9162402
Abstract: A method of continuous curing and post-curing of a plurality of extruded strands is provided. A plurality of extruded strands is wrapped through a plurality of spindle units rotatably connected to a rigid frame structure. A plurality of dual spindles are provided in a plurality of upper and lower spindle units, wherein each dual spindle comprises a free spinning roller and a driven roller. A chamber that comprises a dual function chamber configured for heating and cooling is supported on the rigid frame structure. The plurality of extruded strands is continuously transferred between the upper spindle units and the lower spindle units such that the plurality of extruded strands runs in a vertical fashion that continuously alternates between the lower spindle units and the upper spindle units. Each of the plurality of strands is transferred independently of each other and continuously passed through the chamber for continuous curing and post-curing.

  • Publication number: 20140161921
Abstract: A compression system includes a compression device and a controller. A treated material is pressed longitudinally through a compression chamber by simultaneously applying a lateral pressure and a two-dimensional cross-section compression which includes a pressure applied in a direction traverse to a direction of transport and a pressure applied in a direction parallel to the direction of transport. The controller controls the two-dimensional cross-section compression applied to the treated material such that, during compression, liquids in the treated material migrate to the outer surface of the treated material upon reaching the outlet orifice.

  • Patent number: 8287268
Abstract: A device for producing a high density compact livestock feed from a loose granular material according to various embodiment can include a source for supplying a loose granular material to be treated. A series of successive treatment zones comprises a heating zone, a compression zone, and a cooling zone. The heating zone comprises at least one heater and at least one screw compression dryer configured to receive the loose granular material to be treated for drying. Rotation of the screw transfers the treated material to the compression zone. The compression zone comprises a compression chamber for compacting the treated material to form a high density compact body. The treated material is pressed through the compression chamber while a two-dimensional cross-section compression is applied to the treated material. The cooling zone comprises a cooling unit for cooling the high density compact body received from the compression zone.

  • Patent number: 6290213
Abstract: The modular rail assembly of the present invention includes at least one post, at least one rail, and at least one sleeve. The post is mounted to a surface and preferably extends upward. A sleeve is inserted into openings in the post. The openings are on opposite sides of the post. The sleeve preferably has a flange that contacts the post and prevents the sleeve from sliding completely thorough the openings. A rail is slid through the sleeve and preferably extends parallel to the surface. A single rail can extend through several posts. The sleeve acts as a buffer and protects the rail finish from being scratched or damaged by the post. Because of the sleeve, the modular rail assembly can be reassembled in any position without showing scratch marks or unpainted portions of the rail. In the preferred embodiment, a cap covers the top end of the post. There is also an opening in the cap into which a sleeve is inserted. A rail is slid through the sleeve and cap, similar to the rail and the post.
