  • Patent number: 7811678
Abstract: The invention is a thin film phosphor structure that can be processed on a substrate comprising glass or glass ceramic coated with thin film electrode strips at lower temperatures. The improved phosphor structure for use in a thick film dielectric electroluminescent display comprises a phosphor laminate of a blue light emitting phosphor thin film layer and a thin fluoride containing layer provided directly adjacent the phosphor thin film layer, wherein the fluoride containing layer is provided on the top and/or bottom of the phosphor thin film layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 12, 2003
Date of Patent: October 12, 2010
    Assignee: iFire IP Corporation
Inventors: Wu Li, Michael R. Westcott
  • Patent number: 6589674
Abstract: The performance and stability of thick film electroluminescent displays is enhanced by a non-porous layer inserted between the thick film dielectric layer and thin film phosphor structures in these displays. The inserted layer facilitates increased luminance, increased energy efficiency and improved operating stability.
