Patent number: 8899071Abstract: A soft sided insulated container assembly includes a first portion having an insulated, soft sided external wall structure, and an internal, substantially rigid molded plastic receptacle mounted therein. It has a cover structure that includes a reinforcement member for engaging a land region of the molded receptacle, thereby tending to yield an interface tending to have a sealing relationship. Both the receptacle and the engaging seal member of the lid may be outwardly splayed. The container may also include a thermal storage element, and the container may have an accommodation for receiving the thermal storage element.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2009Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Assignee: California Innovations Inc.Inventors: Melvin S. Mogil, Mark J. Greenstein, Michael Ramundi, Andrius S. Birutis

Patent number: 8857654Abstract: A soft-sided insulated container assembly with a removable thermal storage member mounted therein. The container has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion forms a body and the second portion forms a lid movable between a first position obstructing access to a chamber defined in the first portion and a second position permitting access. The lid has a structural frame having members defining a seat for the thermal storage member when the lid is in the first position. The storage member has portions operable matingly to engage the frame members.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2011Date of Patent: October 14, 2014Assignee: California Innovations Inc.Inventors: Melvin S. Patent number: 8096442Abstract: A portable, foldable, soft-sided insulated container has an a lid mounted carrier, or seat, for a substantially rigid container of a thermal storage medium, such as water. The container assembly may be free of any rigid tub, and may thus retain the ability to fold. The carrier is a substantially rigid plate or panel, or array, that mounts to an otherwise soft panel. The panel, or portion of a panel, to which the rigid carrier mounts is a panel that may tend to stay substantially flat (or curved) when the container assembly is folded. The mounting is such that the substantially rigid thermal storage medium container can slide in and out of the seat. When not in use the entire assembly can be folded into a collapsed position for storage.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2008Date of Patent: January 17, 2012Assignee: California Innovations Inc.Inventor: Michael Ramundi

Publication number: 20110284554Abstract: A container assembly has three portions, namely a bowl, a tray, and a cover. The tray has a sealable mounting on the bowl, and spaced peripheral clasps for engaging a flange of the bowl to make the seal seat tightly. The tray doubles both as a sealing lid and a carrying frame for auxiliary containers such as for salad dressing, condiments or the like. The tray is symmetrically arranged such that two side accommodations bracket a third, central accommodation for utensils. The two side accommodations are deeper than the central accommodation. The cover encloses all of the items carried in the tray.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2010Publication date: November 24, 2011Inventors: Rachael Ray, Michael Ramundi, Christopher Edwards

Publication number: 20090095757Abstract: A container assembly has a substantially rigid moulded plastic shell, tub, a lid, and an auxiliary container that may contain a thermal storage medium such as a phase change liquid. The lid has a peripheral seal that mates in an interference fit with the lip of the tub. The lid also has external fittings that define a seat for the auxiliary container. The lid and the auxiliary container have mutually engaging guides and guide followers that permit a single degree of translational freedom sliding motion of the auxiliary container relative to the lid. The fittings of the seat and the interference fit seal fittings of the lid and the tub do not interfere with or obstruct each other. The tub, the lid and the auxiliary container may have roughly the same footprint, such that when assembled they form a compact assembly, one atop, or beside, the other.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: April 16, 2009Inventor: Michael RAMUNDI
