  • Patent number: 11493967
Abstract: A method and device for sensing a temperature of a battery. A temperature of a power supply in an electronic device is monitored. One or more heat producing components of the electronic device are disabled when the monitored temperature of the power supply is higher than a first temperature. The one or more disabled heat producing components are restarted to restore electronic device functionality in an ordered manner when the monitored temperature of the power supply reaches a second temperature that is less than the first temperature.

  • Patent number: 8699860
Abstract: A first media service is acquired in response to a scheduled acquisition command, where the acquiring operation is performed by a user receiver. The time the acquiring operation takes place depends on information in the command, which indicates when the acquiring operation is supposed to take place and when operation terminates. The receipt of a non-scheduled command by the user receiver causes the acquisition of a second media service, where upon the expiration of the non-scheduled command, the first media service is re-acquired. Upon the expiration of the scheduled command, a third media service is automatically acquired, where the third media service was previously selected by a user.

  • Publication number: 20130191608
Abstract: A set-top box includes a non-volatile memory for storing application code images. To enable the memory to store an application code image larger than a designated storage area associated therewith, the application code image undergoes separation into primary and secondary parts. The memory undergoes reallocation to create a separate storage area for storing the secondary part of the received information, whereas, while the primary part of the received information gets stored in the designated storage area.
