  • Publication number: 20200197218
Abstract: Methods and devices for handling a fluid and delivering the fluid to the eye. The device has a vibrating element with a plurality of openings through which a fluid is ejected when the vibrated. An enclosure defines a chamber which holds a single application of the fluid. The enclosure may be biased against the vibrating element with a spring load developed in whole or part by the resilient structure of the enclosure. The chamber may be substantially empty after the single application.

  • Publication number: 20190383233
Abstract: A nacelle is configured to be coupled to an underside of a wing and forms a clearance space between the nacelle and a leading edge slat of the wing. A portion of an outlet cowling moves longitudinally aft when a reverse thrust configuration is activated and the leading edge slat is deployed toward the nacelle. The outlet cowling also includes another portion located adjacent to the leading edge slat that does not move when the reverse thrust configuration is activated and thus maintains its clearance space from the leading edge slat.

  • Publication number: 20190307272
Abstract: Disclosed herein are multiple embodiments of anti-sloshing liquid-retaining bottles. Embodiments include anti-sloshing liquid-retaining bottles that comprise an internal bladder configured to expand in volumetric proportion to the liquid expelled from the liquid containing bottle thereby eliminating air and, by extension, space in which the water could slosh. Anti-sloshing liquid-retaining bottles disclosed herein can rely on various mechanisms for volumetrically expanding the bladder against liquid retained in the bottle, mechanisms include pneumatic modulation of the bladder using a regulator configured to introduce pressure from a high pressure reservoir to inflate or expand the bladder and valves to release the pressure and deflate the bladder, as well as mechanisms for spring actuation to expand or inflate the bladder. Additional embodiments of anti-sloshing liquid-retaining bottles include bottles comprising wave breakers for passively preventing sloshing by dampening the motion.

  • Publication number: 20190302879
Abstract: A virtual reality experience is provided to one or more users by a computing system through the use of a special-purpose virtual reality mat. The computing system receives image data from an optical sensor imaging a physical environment. The mat includes one or more fiducial markers that are recognizable by the computing system. A presence of these fiducial markers is detected based on the image data. An activity region within the physical environment is defined based, at least in part, on the detected fiducial markers. A positioning of a physical subject is identified within the physical environment relative to the activity region. The virtual reality experience is selectively augmented based on the positioning of the physical subject identified relative to the activity region.

  • Publication number: 20160222986
Abstract: A method and system for an air management system (AMS) is provided. The AMS includes a jet pump assembly including a motive air inlet, a plurality of suction inlets, and a single outlet. The AMS also includes a supply piping arrangement including a conduit configured to channel relatively higher pressure air from a compressor to the motive air inlet, a conduit configured to channel relatively higher pressure air from the compressor to at least one of the plurality of suction inlets through a shutoff valve, and a conduit configured to channel relatively lower pressure air from the compressor to at least one of the plurality of suction inlets. The AMS further includes an outlet piping arrangement configured to channel outlet air from said jet pump assembly to a distribution system. A pressure regulation strategy of the motive jet pump flow allows optimization of engine fuel burn and/or thrust, depending on which is most important to the aircraft during any flight phase.

  • Publication number: 20110308723
Abstract: A multi-segment tool and tooling system for vacuum forming a composite part. A tool can include a first tool having first and second surfaces. A second tool can have an opening positioned on a first tool in a location other than the first surface or the second surface. The first tool and second tool can receive at least a portion of a preform composite. The first tool can have a vacuum barrier attached to the first surface and to the second surface encapsulating the preform composite and the second tool. A tooling system can include a first tool having a core and a base with a core extending upwards from the base. A second tool can be positioned upon the core where the core extends above the second tool. A vacuum barrier sealed to the base and the core can include a composite, the first tool and the second tool.

  • Publication number: 20110062177
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable storage box comprising: a lower portion, where said lower portion includes a base and four sidewalls, where said sidewalls form a storage space; and a lid, where said lid covers the storage space. The lid may be slidably coupled to at least two sidewalls through a channel or a depression configured on a top portion of the at least two sidewalls. In another exemplary embodiment, the lid may be hingedly coupled to one of the sidewalls. The lid may also include a holding mechanism configured on a top surface thereof for manipulating, such as holding and sliding, the lid. Exemplary embodiments o the holding mechanism may include a clip or an aperture configured in the top surface of the lid.

  • Publication number: 20020082122
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for updating mobile distance determination units on a golf course that includes a first mobile unit that determines a new location for a point-of-interest defined for a golf course. The first mobile unit wirelessly transmits update data to identify the new location to a base station computer. The base station computer processes the updated data for broadcasting to activated second mobile distance determination units. The base station computer then wirelessly broadcasts the updated data from the base station computer to the second mobile distance determination units. The second mobile distance determination units update their point-of-interest location data and use this updated data to determine distances between the second mobile distance determination units and the new locations.
