  • Patent number: 6911050
Abstract: A prosthetic knee device having a hydraulic cylinder with a piston and a gas cylinder. A connecting element extends outwardly from the piston and passing through a gas cylinder. A bottom portion of the gas cylinder is adapted for slidable engagement with the hydraulic cylinder. A plunger is fixedly connected to the hydraulic cylinder. An outer periphery of a plunger is adapted for slidable engagement with the interior surface of the gas cylinder, so as to form an operational chamber within the gas cylinder between the bottom portion thereof and the plunger. The operational chamber is responsive to the movement of the prosthetic knee device.

  • Patent number: 6764521
Abstract: A prosthetic ankle joint consists of a base which includes an upper base portion and a lower base portion. The lower base portion is formed with a substantially hollow receiving cavity extending inwardly from an end thereof remote from the upper base portion. A base member is movably positioned within the receiving cavity and is connected to a prosthetic foot. The base member is movable in side-to-side direction independently of the base, so as to enable the prosthetic foot to closely follow a walking surface. The motion of the base member is controlled by resilient biasing members positioned between the inner cavity and the base member.

  • Publication number: 20040083007
Abstract: A prosthetic knee cage consists of a base unit formed by spaced from each other first and second side members interconnected by a connecting element, so as to form an operational channel therebetween. A platform is adapted for pivotal cooperation with the base unit. An adjustment device is provided for adjustment of pivotal movement of the platform relative to the base unit.

  • Patent number: 6500137
Abstract: A medical device consists of a sacral panel, an abdominal panel and first and second trocanteric pad assemblies positioned therebetween. The sacral panel is adjustably connected to each of the first and second trocanteric pad assemblies by posterior connecting elements. The abdominal panel is adjustably connected to each of the first and second trocanteric pad assemblies by anterior adjusting elements. Upon positioning of the device on a body of a patient, tightening of the anterior adjusting elements generates inwardly directed pressure exerted by the device on a pelvic region of the user.

  • Patent number: 6187052
Abstract: An articulated prosthetic ankle joint is adapted for connection between a pylon and a prosthetic foot for moving the foot between dorsiflexed and plantarflexed positions during human locomotion. The prosthetic ankle joint includes a base member adapted for connection to the prosthetic foot, a bracket member adapted for connection to the pylon and pivotally connected to the base member, a recumbent bar pivotally connected to the bracket member, and an upright bar having a lower end pivotally connected to the base and an upper end pivotally connected to the recumbent bar. The bracket member together with the base member, the recumbent bar and the upright bar form a four-bar linkage assembly with a deformable interior space. An elastomeric block is captured within the interior space. Pivotal movement of the base member with respect to the bracket member between dorsiflexed and plantarflexed positions causes deformation of the interior space, and thus deformation of the resilient block.

  • Patent number: 5681267
Abstract: An arrangement for adjustably joining/separating an orthotic device to/from an exterior part of human body consists of a receiving component, a base and a proximal component. The receiving component is mounted to an exterior part of human body. The base is slidably received within the receiving component. The proximal component is movable within the base in such a manner that the proximal component is linearly and rotationally adjustable about the receiving component. The proximal component is formed having a connecting element and a locking unit for locking the proximal component at a predetermined position thereof regarding the receiving component and the base.
